Director of Regulatory Affairs

We are looking for a Director of Regulatory Affairs that will lead our North American region. This senior leader will manage the Americas Regulatory Compliance function and coordinate the regulatory compliance standards and activities for all Colors & Flavors Business Units in Americas. This critical role offers a unique opportunity to lead in a niche and complex sector of the food industry, working with executives, with the ability to make a direct impact!  This position can sit at the Hoffman Estates or St. Louis location.

What you’ll do: 

Coach, lead and mentor a high performing team that delivers strong regulatory and compliance support and guidance.Develop protocols and processes to ensure knowledge transfer throughout all Regulatory staff, while also providing a broad industry awareness to all senior level management across Flavor and Color Business Units.Understand, interpret and apply current regulations as applicable to Colors & Flavors operations worldwide, with particular emphasis on the Canada, Mexico and the United States.Develop and maintain processes to provide customers with certifications concerning product labeling/ compliance requirements, religions claims, and naturalness of products. Optimization of current and proposed (DevEX) data-base systems. Manage and negotiate regulatory support systems (i.e., Decernis, Loli, etc.) and govern standardization of Regulatory calculations and documentation in DevEX.Provide Colors & Flavors representation in all technical associates relevant to the color and flavor business activities and regulations, including FEMA and IACM.

What you’ll bring:

Advanced regulatory or compliance experience in the food industry.Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to an audience.Bachelor’s Degree (BS), preferably in Chemistry, Food Science, Toxicology or other science related fields. Demonstrated management experience, with history of motivating and developing teams and building high-performing organizations.Your strong business acumen, that is coupled with the ability to lead through influence and build relationships with ease.
