Director of Repairs
The Director of Repairs is responsible for directional leadership and oversite for all HFHP’s home repair strategies. The Director of Repairs leads, manages and drives accountability of the dynamic Repair Team. The Director of Repairs works closely with leadership to set forth and oversee annual repair production goals, budgets, enterprise risk management, and long-range schedules that are in alignment with HFHP’s strategic direction.
The ideal candidate will: have depth of experience in residential construction; have a proven track record of successful program development and management; and will maintain quality outcomes, positive relationships, and good humor while working in a dynamic environment.

Direct Home Repairs
Direct Home Repair Team to complete the expected number of projects within budget, on time, in the safest manner possible, and to the quality expectations set forth by HFHP.
Collaborate with Leadership Team to establish structure for Home Repair Team to best utilize resources available.
Focus on process improvements, increased efficiencies, cost reductions to drive programmatic impact.
Direct repairs funding to maximize the funds available and position HFHP to receive future funding.
As OSHA Competent Person, lead efforts to accomplish a comprehensive, construction safety program; Co-Chair HFHP Safety Committee.
Uphold organizational policies and guidelines regarding contracts, RPFs and bid processes; oversee price and quality control with repairs.
Collaborate with other HFHP program directors to ensure programmatic goals are met.

Drive Repair Program Strategy
Build and manage repair budget, as well as contribute to organizational budget.
Collaborate with Leadership and Finance to set annual production goals aligned with organizational mission and capacity.
Drive innovation to scale impact of HFHP’s repair strategy.
Evaluate the systems, processes, and staff structure needed to scale repairs production.

Manage Team
Lead, manage and drive accountability of Repair Team.
Identify capacity needs (technology, fleet, human resources) to ensure that the Repair Team has the budgets, resources, training, and support needed to carry out their work safely and efficiently and produce a quality-built product.
Provide directional oversight of the Carpentry Fellowship program; ensure that program advances build production and meets the outlined Fellowship expectations.
Leverage volunteer engagement; including volunteer workdays, future homeowner engagement on site, and training opportunities for Carpentry Fellows.
Create a culture that encourages diversity, access to professional development opportunities, and career advancement.
Conduct management in a manner that is judicious, empathetic, and professional; provide clear concise communication on goals and expectations, provide prompt constructive feedback when expectations are not meet; coach direct reports on effective team management and accountability.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
10+ years relevant experience in the construction and building industry; must be extremely well versed in all aspects of residential home construction and project management; field experience preferred.
Minimum of 8 years in positions with leadership and people management; strong ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
Proven track record of success managing and overseeing projects and programs; ability to oversee diverse portfolio of project typologies concurrently.
Demonstrated ability to create and manage complex projects and departmental budgets.
Strong planning and scheduling skills, experience with and ability to use project management tools such as Gantt charts are highly preferred.
Familiarity with and ability to read legal contracts and documents and effectively negotiate contract terms.
Strong computer and tech competencies: ability to check and send emails, operate a tablet/iPad to utilize project management programs and communication software.
Understands the Habitat for Humanity philosophy and the desire to promote it.
Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with volunteers and in diverse populations.
Ability to maintain respect and compassion when working with people in difficult life circumstances.
Valid driver’s license with no major violations in the last 3 years.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to visit and traverse active construction sites including ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in unconditioned spaces
