Summary of Job Duties:The Director will oversee the development of the cancer institute regional advisory boards, host and manage regular coalition meetings of the advisory board coalition, work with boards to develop strategic outreach and education programs on cancer prevention; engage boards in bidirectional relationship with cancer center researchers to inform research directions as well as learn about research studies, and work across operational units to (e.g., mobile van, research programs, education) to help facilitate collaborative initiatives with communities. The Director will lead the operational and administrative functions for all the advisory boards. Responsibilities include developing the regional boards, maintaining regular communications with the board, conducting trainings with advisory board to promote educational and outreach efforts, evaluating the progress of the board, and working with internal and external partners as appropriate to achieve measurable outcomes for the advisory boards.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE). The role is based in Little Rock and will require regular local and statewide travel.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field plus five (5) years of administration, financial and/or operational experience OR a Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field plus three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).

Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License, standard state mileage reimbursement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong Communication skills (written and verbal).

High level of customer service.

Highly organized and able to employ problem-solving skills.


Additional Information:

Develop, implement, and maintain regional advisory boards.

Utilize catchment area needs assessment data to inform the priorities for the regional advisory boards.

Identify key leaders who participation on the board and develop strategic plan for the board.  

Schedule regular meeting with each board and across boards to achieve measurable goals.

Collaborate with internal and external parties to schedule to determine research, education, and outreach priorities using a bidirectional relationship with boards and research programs.

Oversee and implement board strategic plans.

Work with each regional board and across boards to develop strategic plans for cancer research, outreach, and education in communities. 

Actively participate in leadership team meetings, as appropriate of the cancer institute, community outreach, and engagement, and other subcommittees as relevant. 

Other duties as assigned.
