As Director of Retail Store Technology, which is a pivotal leadership role, you will be overseeing depot services for break/fix, IT asset management, telco support, store software deployments. The role is critical in delivering operational excellence and ensuring that retail technology systems and infrastructure align with the company’s strategic objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The Director will lead a high-performing team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative, reliable, and efficient technology solutions to enhance the store experience.
A Day In The Life
Store Technology Operations
Oversee depot services for break/fix support, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues in store environments.Manage the lifecycle of retail technology hardware and software, including POS systems (fixed and mobile) and back-office systems.Oversees telecommunications infrastructure and services, ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance across all locations. Oversee the deployment of software updates, patches and configurations across all store devices, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Technology Strategy and Standards
Develop and maintain technology standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and alignment with business goals.Responsible for overseeing the Asset Management Process as the designated process owner, ensuring accurate tracking, lifecycle management and optimization of IT assets across the organization.Design and implement new system evaluations, identifying infrastructure solutions based on business requirements.Maintain and update comprehensive documentation for system and application architecture, configurations, and processes.Service and Operational Excellence
Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and operational performance for store technology systems.Monitor and analyze system performance, ensuring issues are identified and resolved proactively.Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs, minimize downtime, and enhance system reliability.
To Be Successful You Should Possess
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; 10+ years of experience in retail hardware and software systems, including POS, back-office systems, and network infrastructure.Proven experience in managing large scale Retail store TechnologyExcellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.Experience with building and managing 24/7 operational support teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
