The role of the Director of Revenue Management
The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for maximizing room revenue for rooms through the implementation of effective pricing and distribution strategies for Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. This role is responsible for ensuring yield and revenue management strategies are implemented and effectively controlled. Out-perform direct competitors by winning market share with rational and competitive pricing, distribution and careful management of hotel inventory to maximize topline revenue and yield high net profits. Manage and oversee revenue management analytic functions to produce reporting that support and evaluate hotel business strategies. Produce accurate revenue forecasts that help set hotel goals and outgrow the competition. As a senior leader at the hotel it is expected that the Director of Revenue Management displays leadership qualities that are collaborative and positive while ensuring enforcement of revenue and yield management policies.
Key responsibilities include:
Inventory and yield managementReview 30-120 day strategy, as well as long-term strategy based on market conditionsRegular and meticulous standardized reporting for both properties to leadership & ownershipUse the revenue management systems to create accurate future unconstrained demand forecasts and capacity forecasts.Implement appropriate inventory restrictions when demand is projected to exceed capacity to capture optimal revenue customers based on arrival date, average rate and length of stayPrepare agenda, critiques, tracking, competitive analysis and future strategies for presentation at the weekly Revenue Management Strategy Meeting. Topics include STR analysis, Demand360, performance & pace (segments & room types), comp set outlook/pricing.Build and distribute accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports for hotel in a timely mannerDirect communication with Central Systems & Distribution to resolve system related issues efficientlyDesign and implement F&B Revenue Management program across all outlets to streamline the forecasting process, improve planning and menu engineering, and optimize pricing and revenue. DORM will be responsible for providing the analysis tools and guidance to F&B Department heads to implement the principles of the revenue management process, drive average checks, examine pricing, and identify trends and strategies to optimize revenue.Work side by side Director of Sales with the group team in Daily Business Review to review group rates for rooms and suites as well as F&B contribution per occupied group roomCollaborating with marketing, finance, food and beverage and operations senior management to ensure alignment and support for revenue management and distribution strategy and direction.Ensuring the implementation of highly effective revenue management and distribution activities and strategies across all segments.Attributes for success include:
3+ years of proven track record in revenue management and distributionPrior leadership success is essential, demonstrating the ability to build and lead teams successfully, influencing stakeholders in highly diverse matrixed organization is highly important.Comprehensive computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in working with Excel and OperaSuperior guest service and salesmanship skillsAbility to manage multi tasks and improve efficiency and productivityExperience in F&B and/or Spa Revenue Management preferredThis role is a remote position working EST business hours, must be able to travel to property 1-2 per quarter and on an as-needed basis.
