Director of Risk and Compliance
**Position Summary:** The Director of Risk and Compliance is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of risk management and compliance within OrthoNY. This role requires expertise in regulatory requirements, risk assessment and implementing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and mitigate potential risks. **Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess and mitigate potential risks across all areas of the organization + Collaborate with department heads to develop risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation + Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (HIPAA) + Stay informed about changes in regulations and ensure that policies and procedures are updated accordingly + Monitor compliance with policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement as necessary + Develop and implement procedures for reporting and investigating incidents + Develop training materials and resources to support ongoing education and awareness efforts throughout the organization + Prepare regular reports for senior management and the board of directors of risk management and compliance activities, including findings, trends and recommendations + Organize and run the QA committee- helping to continuously improve quality across the organization + Other responsibilities as needed **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus + Minimum of 7 years’ experience in healthcare compliance, risk management or a related field + Certification in healthcare compliance is strongly preferred (e.g., CHC, CPCO, CH-F, CHPC or CHRC) + Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, Stark Law, etc. + Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve compliance and risk management goals + Excellent communication and customer service skills **Other Information:** + This is an in office position with ability to work remotely as needed + This position requires more than 40 hours a week including routine meetings after regular business hours + This position requires periodic travel to and between practice locations and related companies, as needed
