We are honored to be named #1 hotel in the South by Conde Nast and #1 hotel in Buckhead, #2 hotel in Atlanta and #3 hotel in Georgia by U.S. News & World Report. **Position Overview:** The Director of Safety & Security is responsible for overseeing the safety and security operations of the hotel, ensuring the safety of guests, colleagues, and assets while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This leadership role involves developing, implementing, and managing security policies, emergency response protocols, and training programs that align with the hotel’s standards for safety and service excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** **Leadership & Management** + Lead and manage the safety and security team, ensuring proper staffing, scheduling, and development of team members. + Foster a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the hotel, promoting accountability across all departments. + Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship to the security team. **Safety & Security Operations** + Oversee daily safety and security operations, including monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access to restricted areas, and conducting regular property patrols. + Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security plans, policies, and procedures in alignment with hotel and brand standards. + Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate responses. + Manage the hotel’s emergency preparedness programs, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and disaster recovery protocols. **Compliance & Risk Management** + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and security regulations, including OSHA and ADA requirements. + Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential threats to the property, staff, and guests. + Partner with internal and external stakeholders, such as law enforcement and emergency response teams, to address safety concerns and coordinate responses. + Maintain detailed records of security activities, incident reports, and compliance audits. **Training & Communication** + Develop and deliver safety and security training programs for hotel staff, ensuring all colleagues are well-versed in emergency procedures and protocols. + Act as a key liaison for communicating safety initiatives and updates to management, colleagues, and guests. + Regularly review and update training materials to reflect current safety trends and standards. **Budgeting & Resource Management** + Prepare and manage the safety and security department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. + Recommend and oversee the procurement and maintenance of security equipment, including surveillance systems and access control technology. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred. + Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in safety, security, or risk management, ideally in a hospitality environment. + Knowledge of safety and security regulations, including OSHA, fire codes, and other relevant standards. + Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team. + Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in using security systems and software, including CCTV and access control systems. + Certification in security-related fields, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Occupational First Aid, is an asset. **Working Conditions:** + Flexible schedule required, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. + Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and respond to emergency situations promptly. + May require physical exertion, such as lifting or moving equipment during emergencies. The salary range for this position is $77,000 to $95,000. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
