Pacifica Hotels is searching for a driven and experienced Director of Sales to lead the opening of the Cambria Hotel Templeton-Paso Robles! The Director of Sales is responsible for the direct sales efforts of all segments including banquet and catering. Directs and leads the sales team to implement specific sales strategies and tactical plans that generate revenue for the hotel while emphasizing profitability and market share growth. Serves as the ambassador to the area for the hotel and ensure that revenue budgets as well as productivity goals are achieved or exceeded.
Core functions of the position, but are not limited to the following;
Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and implement sales strategy to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction. Direct the day-to-day activities of the Sales Team, assist with the planning, organizing for each revenue segment including banquet and catering food and beverage; assign work for each manager, develop, and communicate strategies and goals. Hire, train, motivate and hold accountable all sales team members. Provide support and coaching for team members to drive performance, increase job satisfaction and ensure each reaches their goals. Educate staff of formal policies, procedures, and goals, ensure staff has the tools, resources, training, and leadership to achieve and exceed expectations. Manage all human resource-related actions in accordance with the Company rules and policies. Achieve or exceed individual and team goals and hotel budget. Manage all lead sources to ensure leads are responded to promptly, accurately and converted into revenue generating booking. Ensure sales system is utilized properly and consistently in accordance with Pacifica expectations. Analyze current/potential market trends and coordinate all activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share through added business volume, rates, food, and beverage contribution. Seek new customers through strategic proactive sales efforts for all segments. Conduct effective sales calls to key account and prospects. Monitor sales team activities/performance to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded, establish plans, and accurately report to management. Utilizing the tools and resources to make informed decisions and maximize revenue. Develop and maintain positive relationships with peers and competitors. Train and empower sales team members to exercise good judgement and make profitable business decisions. Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying customer service and create a positive example for guest relations. Execute and support the administrative aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondents, etc.) Promote intradepartmental communication and ensure all departments are well informed on sales initiatives, upcoming groups, events, and VIP’s. Complete ongoing sales objectives and action plans as directed by Regional Director of Sales. Complete all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as specified by Regional Director of Sales.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervision of Sales Team
Independent Judgement: Frequently within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating with Company policies and procedures
Working conditions: Access to entire exterior and interior of property. Indoors, various offices. Outdoors, touring properties, walking to/from automobile. Driving on roads and highways. Carrying promotional materials including tradeshow booth.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Education/Experience: Minimum of two (2) years hotel sales experience. Strong English skills, both oral and written. Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Strong leadership, salesmanship and public relations skills. Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills required. Proficient in supervising, training, coaching, and counseling. Ability to make timely, effective decisions. Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work assignments. Ability to maintain good team member relations. Ability to develop and maintain effective guest relations. Ability to direct performance of team members and follow-up with corrective action where needed. Ability to work long hours, 5 to 6 days a week. Basic accounting procedures. Computer skills; Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance. Physical Requirements: Frequent driving, walking indoors, outdoors, up and down stairs, standing, sitting. Repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting and carrying. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 35 lbs.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000/annually
