This Department Head position will report directly to the station’s General Manager while working closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are looking for an energetic leader who will build on the success of our Broadcast and Digital sales team. A successful candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills as well as business acumen with a high sense of urgency. It’s imperative to also have strong interpersonal skills and be visible in the station and in the community.
The Director of Sales is responsible for delivering best in class sales performance, and expansion into critical regional key accounts and channels. This role will be accountable for implementing strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market development in line with Nexstar's vision and values.
Position Responsibilities:
Determines inventory, pricing and drives demand and ratesManages inventory and revenue forecastingMeets and exceeds sales quota leveraging Nexstar’s growing suite of productsDrives new business developmentCreates unique and customized media plans for high profile buyers leveraging Nexstar Digital’s full suite of products that can include but are not limited to: OTT, video, social, data, addressable Communicates efficiently both externally and internally across multiple teams Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionalsPlans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programsPrepares budgets and approves budget expendituresResolves customer complaints regarding sales and serviceTakes on additional opportunities as company expands Performs other duties as assignedQualifications:
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a team-oriented collaborative fashionStrong attention to detail and an excellent team playerSelf-starter capable of flourishing in high-growth environmentsAbility to credibly influence decision makers and develop tailored solutionsStrong understanding of media math, positioning of market share, RTGs/CPMs, and building creative packages to overachieve revenue goalsAbility to manage a client pipeline and project revenue utilizing a CRM Fluency in ad technology and video advertising with strong communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated track record of strategic sales and revenue growth in the digital video ecosystem Experience selling across multiple advertising products including OTT, display, and search Fluency in ad technology and video advertising with strong communication and presentation skills Energy and passion for growing a digital video advertising business Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and industry proprietary programs such as Wide Orbit, WOMS, and Platform XWilling to travel Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordEducation/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or mass communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience3+ years’ experience in selling TV, video and digital#LI-Onsite
