If you are a competitive and passionate sales leader, the Nexstar Media Inc. duopoly of WGNO (ABC) and WNOL (CW) is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales with a proven track record of success.
This Department Head position will report directly to the station’s General Manager while working closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are looking for an energetic leader who will build on the success of our Broadcast and Digital sales team. A successful candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills as well as business acumen with a high sense of urgency. It’s imperative to also have strong interpersonal skills and be visible in the station and in the community.
The Director of Sales is responsible for delivering best in class sales performance, and expansion into critical regional key accounts and channels. This role will be accountable for implementing strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market development in line with Nexstar's vision and values.
Position Responsibilities :
+ Determines inventory, pricing and drives demand and rates
+ Manages inventory and revenue forecasting
+ Meets and exceeds sales quota leveraging Nexstar’s growing suite of products
+ Drives new business development
+ Creates unique and customized media plans for high profile buyers leveraging Nexstar Digital’s full suite of products that can include but are not limited to: OTT, video, social, data, addressable
+ Communicates efficiently both externally and internally across multiple teams
+ Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals
+ Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs
+ Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures
+ Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service
+ Takes on additional opportunities as company expands
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a team-oriented collaborative fashion
+ Strong attention to detail and an excellent team player
+ Self-starter capable of flourishing in high-growth environments
+ Ability to credibly influence decision makers and develop tailored solutions
+ Strong understanding of media math, positioning of market share, RTGs/CPMs, and building creative packages to overachieve revenue goals
+ Ability to manage a client pipeline and project revenue utilizing a CRM
+ Fluency in ad technology and video advertising with strong communication and presentation skills
+ Demonstrated track record of strategic sales and revenue growth in the digital video ecosystem
+ Experience selling across multiple advertising products including OTT, display, and search
+ Fluency in ad technology and video advertising with strong communication and presentation skills
+ Energy and passion for growing a digital video advertising business
+ Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and industry proprietary programs such as Wide Orbit, WOMS, and Platform X
+ Willing to travel
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or mass communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
+ 3+ years’ experience in selling TV, video and digital
