Job Duties

Provides overall leadership and management of the Sales and Catering function. Develops new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals.   Participates in catering sales presentations, property tours and guest meetings.  Requires a thorough understanding of direct sales, account management, yield management and the distribution channels related to room sales and catering sales. Responsible for the selection, management, and development of the team. Also, this position is responsible for the overall sales, catering performance and operating budget.  Prepares, implements and compiles data for strategic sales plan.  Directs, manages, trains and counsels catering sales and convention team.  Responsible for directly working with vendors and other operating departments, including but not limited to Promotions, Direct Marketing, Players Club, Advertising, Entertainment, Casino Accounting, Player Development and Food & Beverage to ensure that plans and procedures are effectively organized and communicated throughout the company.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  Must possess excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.  Promotes superior guest service.  Has the ability to extend complementary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years’ management experience in sales-convention services, experience in the day to day operations of a multi-faceted events management or guest service oriented department. College degree preferred. Must possess knowledge of banquet functions and have hotel catering experience.  Must possess experience with Delphi sales and catering software.  Outstanding organizational skills required as well as strong written and verbal skills.  Must have excellent computer skills.  Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours.  Must be capable of interacting with the public in a highly professional manner, including frequent public speaking.
