The Director of Sales and Marketing is a seasoned Sales and Marketing professional with a proven track record of driving innovative and highly-effective sales and marketing strategies that achieve measurable results. The DOSM is an active seller who also oversees the Sales and Marketing Department’s efforts to meet and/or exceed the projected and budgeted rooms and events revenue for the hotel.
The role requires a balanced understanding of local, regional, and key international feeder markets and leveraging their extensive network. They work with the GM and Corporate Teams to strategically plan and set overall business goals and create opportunities to keep the hotel and FB venues current.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred.Five or more years of related and progressive Sales experience in luxury hotel environments, with two years at a Director level in a similar setting.Prior “Lifestyle” hotel brand experience strongly preferred.Experience working as a DOSM in Mexico, with knowledge of operating an internationally branded hotel as it relates to hotel operations, finances, employee safety compliance, applicability of GDPR to guest and personnel matters.Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of local, regional, and global markets, FB, and travel and tourism trends.Experience working in the Valle de Guadalupe region or a familiarity with the region is a plus.Experience in setting up a hotel Sales, Events, Marketing department during pre-opening or post-renovation is mandatory.Must speak English and Spanish, additional languages proficiency a plus.Strong knowledge and experience of most, if not all, of the following - strategic planning, brand management / creation, corporate communications, performance / ROI analytics, budgeting / cost management, project management, partner / sponsor relations, lead generation.Ability to effectively and confidently present financials, strategies, and other presentations in both oral and written form to all concerned stakeholders.Business acumen and forward-thinking approach to analyzing business opportunities, proposing cost-management initiatives and efficiencies, short and long-term goal planning, budgeting, forecasting, business planning and profit and loss analytics.Possess a lead-from-the-front mentality, constantly staying engaged with their team, serving as ambassador to the property as well as the Dream and Hyatt brand.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with: Ownership; Corporate; hotel’s management, employees, clients, and vendors; and the community.Ability to communicate effectively and calmly handle challenges in the workplace, proposing corrective solutions when identifying challenges.Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and confidently present financials and other presentations in both oral and written form.Ability to work flexible schedules and be present as required by business demand levels.Knowledgeable in current health and safety guidelines related to COVID-19 response management.Proficient in computer systems including Microsoft Suite, and commonly used hospitality systems including: Sales and catering planning/forecasting/management software, revenue management software, purchasing/inventory platforms, PMS, POS.Legal authorization to work in Mexico.Knowledgeable with all Mexico applicable regulations and legislation, including Health, Safety Hygiene, employment legislation and financial reporting.High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
