Job Summary/Description:

WECT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Southeastern North Carolina has an immediate opening for a Director of Sales to lead our local, national, and digital sales efforts. The candidate must possess strong leadership skills and the highest level of customer service and sales skills, along with a proven track record of success in negotiating and servicing advertisers. The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving station revenue goals, pricing, and inventory management for the station platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Develop and implement strategic revenue plans for the station.
- Drive share growth through creativity and collaborating on customized solutions for our clients outside of traditional spot dollars.
- Work directly with National/Regional as well as political agencies to effectively negotiate and grow share of advertising budgets.
- Effectively manage inventory, develop rate structure, and keep orders flowing through the traffic system.
- Accurately track and forecast pending business.
- Service existing accounts and create special sales opportunities specific to each client.
- Solid understanding of FCC Political rules for broadcast television advertising.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years in broadcast direct and transactional business and a proven track record of leadership, budget attainment, and sales success.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Extensive knowledge of TV station inventory management. Wide Orbit experience is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
