Position Overview
Millennia Commercial Group is seeking a Director of Security at Key Center. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic and tactical day to day operations for all building security operations located at Key Center. Key Tower in downtown Cleveland is one of the premier commercial high-rise locations in the Midwest.
The focus of this role will be to develop and promote strategic, tactical, and proactive security strategies in support of the needs of Key Center tenants, guest, and employees. The Director of Security will administer these security strategies through security best practices, industry standards, and what is best for Key Center. This role will collaborate with external groups (e.g., federal, state, local law enforcement and emergency services) as well as partner with cross-functional groups/internal stakeholders to ensure corporate security requirements are met.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
+ Lead the building security and protection program to include corporate security relationship of third-party protection security services, as well as internal protection security assessments and audits
+ Develop and manage protection shift assignments
+ Develop necessary protection policies and procedures to ensure the program is in line with recognized industry standards
+ Liaise with eternal partners and services as needed to ensure quick response to security threats
+ Conduct investigations into security incidents including camera review and completion of appropriate investigations documentation, typically in coordination with HR and Legal
+ Monitor, audit, and oversee building access controls of office spaces to ensure all employees, onsite vendors, and contractors have the right access and understand policy
+ Work with outside consultants and vendors as appropriate for independent investigations security audits and assessments when necessary/applicable
+ Work in conjunction with Security Manager to establish overall corporate security best practices
+ Develop and manage training for team and staff
+ Support Fire/Life Safety efforts for the facility

Required Education and Experience
+ Minimum of 7 years of security experience within a corporate and/or commercial environment
+ The ability to be flexible and work through the absence of established processes
+ Capable of managing complex projects with limited oversight
+ The ability to be on call 24/7 to respond to company-related security incidents and to travel needed
+ Ability to partner with internal stakeholder groups as well as a variety of vendors/contractors to deliver and implement change
+ Strong judgement and decision-making skills
+ The ability to successfully deal with ambiguity and operate in the grey
+ The ability to successfully earn/build trust with relevant stakeholders, colleagues, and peers
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting investigations within a corporate or government agency environment
+ Insider threat program experience and/or CERT Carnegie Mellon Certificate
+ Familiarity with confidential security programs to include innovative technology and processes
+ Prior experience working in military or law enforcement
Work Conditions & Physical Demands
+ Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a residential setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, people, and equipment.
+ Able to work independently or as a team member and support managers with special projects.
+ Strong collaboration skills – works well across functional areas—excellent relationship-building skills; able to collaborate with various levels of the organization.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
+ Must be able to work various shifts when needed to cover during regular business hours, including weekends and evenings.
+ Travel required as needed.
