As the Director of Security Technology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our security posture and ensuring our continued success in a rapidly changing threat landscape.

This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in our corporate office in Utah.

YOU ARE: As the Director of Security Technology, you are a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of information security principles, technologies, and best practices. You possess exceptional leadership skills and are adept at driving strategic initiatives to safeguard digital assets and mitigate risks. Your strong technical background enables you to assess complex security challenges and devise innovative solutions to address them effectively. You thrive in dynamic environments, where you can leverage your expertise to shape and implement robust security strategies.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

Strategic Planning: Lead the development and implementation of the organization's security technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of security engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks across the organization, and formulate strategies to mitigate them proactively.

Security Architecture: Design and review security architectures for networks, systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure they meet industry standards and compliance requirements.

Incident Response: Oversee incident response processes and procedures, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts in the event of security incidents or breaches.

Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with security technology vendors, assessing products and services for effectiveness and value.

Security Awareness: Promote a culture of security awareness and compliance among employees through training programs, awareness campaigns, and communication initiatives.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.

Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging security technologies, tools, and trends, recommending investments that enhance the organization's security posture.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to integrate security requirements into business processes and projects.

Reporting: Prepare and present reports to executive leadership and stakeholders on security posture, incidents, and performance metrics.

YOU WILL BRING:

Experience: 8+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of security technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint security, encryption, and identity management.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.

Strategic Vision: Proven track record of developing and executing security strategies that align with business goals and industry best practices.

Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex security challenges and devise effective solutions.

Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams to achieve security objectives while balancing business needs.

Certifications: Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
