Director of Services - Ignite Positive Change! Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Direct Reporting: Executive Director Salary Range: $27.11-$30.05 Location: Oceanside, CA This role is based in Southern California, specifically in Oceanside, CA (North San Diego County). It is located inside a military base installation. Base access is provided to civilian employees. JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Services will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the organization's service programs. These programs include the Temporary Emergency Assistance Program, Project Liberty Call, the Recreation Center, Neighborhood Exchange, Pendleton Pantry, and Operation Kid Comfort. ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL DUTIES + Oversee all aspects of the service programs, including staffing, training, operations, compliance, health, and safety. Drive program expansion and the development of new service initiatives. + Supervise employees by assigning tasks, providing coaching, counseling, and mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations in line with National Headquarters guidelines. Recommend and implement personnel actions, facilitate training, and ensure compliance with ASYMCA policies. + Assist the Executive Director in preparing the annual budget, including a program fee schedule based on comparative analysis. Upon approval, manage budget implementation, monitor performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial goals. + Foster partnerships with other service organizations to enhance program visibility, encourage collaboration, and support the local military community. + Ensure facility standards for condition, safety, and sanitation are met. Submit maintenance requests as needed and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies for proper upkeep. + Maintain accurate and timely records for program staff and participants, including personnel requirements, petty cash, and program data. + Collaborate with community partners to develop outcome measures that document program success and its impact on the military community. Advocate for and promote the program within the military and other support organizations. + Work with the Director of Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator to effectively market programs and services, maximizing enrollment and participation. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Prepare and present monthly reports for Board of Management meetings and actively participate in these meetings. + Ensure branch compliance with all National Headquarters directives and deadlines. + Support the planning and execution of service programs and fundraising events aligned with the organization’s mission and goals. + Safeguard sensitive branch information, maintaining strict confidentiality. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. + Adhere to ASYMCA’s organizational policies and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + Minimum of two years of college coursework and two years of relevant experience in program management or a similar role within a nonprofit organization. + Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two or more years of experience in a role requiring comparable skills. Experience in military service programs and management is highly desirable. + A combination of education and experience equivalent to the stated minimum requirements may be considered. + At least one year of demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience. + Highly reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. + Willingness to travel as needed. + Successful completion of a background check is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES + Professional demeanor with strong integrity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. + Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively under varying deadlines. + Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills. + Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. + Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional setting. + Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, including conflict resolution in a professional and positive manner. + General understanding of nonprofit organizational practices and operations. + Familiarity with or willingness to learn program management software to support tracking and development of service programs PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: + Work in an office setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County. + Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and use hands, arms and legs for dexterity, balance and climb stairs frequently.  Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. + Occasionally lifts, carry and balances objects weighing up to 50 pounds. + Pull and pushes objects such as file drawers and supplies. + Prioritizes and multi-tasks work and projects requiring good memory, concentration and analytical thinking.
