Job Description

CoStar Real Estate Manager is searching for a driven and knowledgeable director for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. This role will lead a multicultural, cooperative team of engineers who contribute to the reliability of the CoStar Real Estate Manager application suite. You would be responsible for leading the technical strategy and vision for our underpinning infrastructure, alerting & monitoring, infrastructure provisioning, networking, and development tooling in collaboration with other engineering teams and leadership. Foster a culture of cooperation and innovation that will support the development of our engineers, be an effective people manager who can inspire and motivate others. You should have the ability to manage resources, projects with many dependencies, and be a good communicator.

This position is located in Atlanta, GA and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Direct an SRE team of bright and driven full-stack engineers from IT Ops and DevOps in the development, administration, and upkeep of reliable infrastructure and easy-to-use toolsCreate a culture of honesty, openness, and inclusivity in everything we doLead the technology strategy for our infrastructure and toolingEstablish objectives and delivery schedules in close collaboration with the product and process teams, balancing tech debt and outside requestsWork with the SRE team to provide high-quality infrastructure that is easy to maintain and deploys reliablyOwn the Observability Platform and best practices so that future teams can track and support theMentor and guide SRE engineers to realize their full potential by providing honest criticism and setting clear goalsAssist in finding and hiring new talent who will improve us and add a variety of perspectives

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college10+ years’ experience leading infrastructure teams through transformation programsExperience with software configuration management and release engineering Windows O/SLinux (Ubuntu)Kubernetes On-PremAzure DevOpsExperience managing database administrators (SQL Server, AWS RDS) Knowledge of agile methodologies Knowledge of controlling infrastructure and associated equipmentExperience working with cloud service platforms in a hybrid cloud configuration (on-prem & AWS) and knowledge of best practices and methods for resolving issues in those settingsWorking knowledge of monitoring systems – LogicMonitor a plusExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to weigh several choices and suggest a course of actionExperience guiding a team and setting both group- and person-specific goalsEffective communication and is comfortable interacting with people of various backgrounds, skill levels, and experiencesPassion for fostering the growth and development of SRE EngineersContinuously enhance our infrastructure and supporting procedures while simultaneously identifying cost reductionsEstablish baseline requirements and monitoring capabilities in collaboration with application teamsBe proactive in testing dependability and resilience across all of our application platformsProvide seamless developer experiences in close collaboration with other engineering teamsContribute to the determination of agreements and objectives for the dependability of servicesCollaborate with engineering groups to establish best practices and standards for incident response and management
