Title and Summary
Director of Software EngineeringOverview•The Cryptographic Security Program consists of a global Mastercard team that designs, builds and supports service platforms that provide cryptographic, key management and EMV certificate management functions utilized by global Mastercard application teams.
•Cryptographic Security Program has roadmap plans to re-architect legacy platforms and build new service-oriented platforms that are scalable, highly available, and built to support continuous delivery implementations. The roadmap also includes enhancing current Crypto products to adhere to requirements for Availability Zone deployments and scalability.
•Responsible for leading the analysis, design, development and delivery of data protection service platforms to be leveraged by the enterprise

Role
•Formally supervises and coaches a software engineering team of multiple roles and is responsible for planning and business execution of goals and objectives
•Ensures own team’s compliance to objective/goal setting and performance appraisal process
•Helps identify and coach top talent within own team (includes direct reports and second-line reports).
•Provides strategic leadership related to specific applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
•Creates and sustains an environment of ingenuity and creativity and challenges the status quo to encourage innovation
•Responsible for working with the Architects and Tech Leads to develop plans for executing on initiatives.
•Oversees the management of the software engineering function and acts as an authority on high-level and complex decisions within the function
•Responsible for contributing to the overall Data Protection Services team solution and technology roadmap
•Responsible for business case development and scenario planning leading to an effective decision-making process for new initiatives
All About You
•Expert understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies
•Experience working on large-scale enterprise initiatives that include multiple impact teams across the enterprise
•Experience leveraging or developing solutions using Information Security-related concepts: Cryptography – X.509, Certificate Management Protocol (CMP), public key cryptography standards, Hardware Security Modules, PKCS11
•Experience in vendor management and direction - including driving the creation and execution of SOW contracts, issue management and vendor deliverables
•High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to handle multiple high-priority demands while driving consistent results

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
