Job Description

Opening in 2024, Pendry Natirar is in Somerset County and less than an hour from New York City. The Tudor-style mansion, formerly owned by the King of Morocco, has been restored and renovated with an adjoining hotel and residences crafted for farm-style living. The resort includes a signature hotel restaurant, full-service destination Spa Pendry, fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts and outdoor activities to be discovered throughout the resort and trail paths groomed for hiking, biking and horseback riding. 

The renowned restaurant Ninety Acres and its adjoining cooking school features year-round menus, culinary-focused programming, and partnership events with local growers. The estate’s sustainable farm operates in harmony with the seasons to deliver its agricultural bounty to the resort’s food and wine program.

Natirar includes a private social membership club for those who share a passion for food, wine, adventure, and camaraderie. Natirar Club Members have access to special club amenities, services, and events. 

Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Spa Director is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Spa. Responsible for the development and overseeing the division strategy; including program activation, partnerships, and operational excellence through effective leadership, excellent guest service and engaged associates whilst maximizing financial performance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to: 
•    Direct all spa functions ensuring dynamic programming, services, facilities, and operations.
•    Create a supportive and professional environment which consistently delivers an experience that exceeds guest and associate expectations. 
•    Responsible for selection of all qualified candidates, communicating performance expectations, providing associates with on-going feedback, mentoring and conducting official performance reviews. 
•    Develop and monitor financial strategies to increase revenues while controlling operating expenses, 
•    Effectively utilize available technology and software to ensure sound business practices and a data driven approach to decision making.
•    Develop and enforce standard operating systems, to ensure facilities are maintained to luxury standards. 
•    Strategically and proactively develop programs, marketing initiatives and promotions to increase revenue generating opportunities, enhance the guest experience, and increase the repeat guest base. 
•    Support public relations requests for experiences and respond to all media leads. Establish beneficial partnerships with local guides, land and resource partners.
•    Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs that may be outside the scope of normal duties. 

QUALIFICATIONS  
•    High school or equivalent education required. 
•    5 plus years of relevant work experience as a spa and/or recreation leader. 
•    Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
•    Demonstrated passion for spa, recreation, and the outdoors
•    Authentic team builder who can motivate team members and hold them accountable
•    Ability to handle high pressure circumstances with a calm demeanor
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
•    Required to become CPR and First Aid certified 
•    Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekend, evenings, and holidays
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills
•    Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The majority of work tasks are performed indoors but may also occur outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day.  Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
