Position Summary:

Responsible for developing and executing global supplier sourcing, tactical purchasing, and materials coordination to meet sales and distribution demand for finished products.  Leads and manages Supply/ Demand Planning and Master Production Scheduling functions which plan and control inventory of finished goods for warehouses/distribution centers.  Strategic responsibility for purchasing functions and warehousing operations.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

Leads Manufacturing engagement with Corporate Supply Chain on joint initiatives to define inventory levels and continuous improvement efforts in Supply Chain.Functions as Subject Matter Expert for purchasing controls and compliance.Responsible for purchases and/or contracts for materials and services in accordance with company established practices and policies to ensure ethical relationships with suppliers.Leads team of Supply/ Demand Planners and Buyers. Responsible for developing and implementing all processes of supplier performance measurement, purchasing regulatory compliance, auditing, and corrective and preventive actions. Reports on supplier related metrics at Management Review.Participates in monthly Sales and Operations Planning meeting . Provide strategic inputs to Senior leadership feeding annual and three-year planning cycles.Develops and maintains process to define long-range forecasts as inputs to annual Strategic planning.Thorough understanding of the Quality System Requirements and relevant ISO standards that govern purchasing and warehousing activities. Participates in internal/external audits.Projects and minimizes scrap exposure by identifying issues and proposing solutionsDevelops and maintains processes to monitor forecast and safety stock levels and adjusts accordingly. Maintains frequent communications with strategic partners on a variety of subjects, including order information, recalls, and shipping issues.Develops and maintains inputs to computerized inventory management system. Reviews and adjusts forecast information. Communicates with marketing, manufacturing, and distribution to introduce new products into inventory.Prepares and distributes numerous weekly/monthly status reports relating to backorders, reagent planning, and similar subjects. Performs other related duties as assigned.Leads identification of potential disruption in the supply chain due to changes in supplier’s business including their strategic direction, operating results, technical capabilities and overall performance and develops effective plans for mitigation.Responsible for staffing, development, and management of subordinates while promoting an environment of positive leadership and engagementResponsible for the shipping and receiving functions, including all warehouse operations; ensures raw material inventories are optimized for sustained operations.Demonstrates year-over-year cost reduction.Other duties or projects as assigned

People Manager Accountabilities:

Effectively carries out the expectations of Werfen People Managers as defined in Werfen’s Role of the Manager program. Among others this includes maintaining regular, at minimum once a month, and transparent communication with the team through effective use of formal one-on-one meetings with direct reports and team meets. Managing performance issues and conflict proactively; uses judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources. Responsibility for the team´s compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or Economics, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehousing in a regulated environment. Certification from Association For Supply Chain Management (ASCM) preferred.Experience working with products controlled by shelf lifePrevious experience with computerized inventory and distribution management systems, preferably SAPProficiency with computers, including spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.Familiar with Demand Planning and the Sales and Operations Planning Process.

Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

 

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10% travel

 

The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $190,000 to $230,000.  Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
