Director of System Professional Billing Clinical Documentation Integrity

Overview The Professional Billing (PB) Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Director is responsible for the PB CDI program strategy and oversight across UF Health. The Director will partner with the UF Health System CDI Director and PB CDI Manager to strategically plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the PB CDI program at UF Health. Oversight will include management of evaluation and management (E/M) levels and the Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC)-related risk adjustment factor (HCC-RAF), among other metrics, in cooperation with multiple hospital departments. The PB CDI Director oversees the PB CDI Manager and clinical documentation integrity specialists (CDIS) in planning, implementing improvements, and re-evaluating processes to keep staff engaged and to assist in meeting department goals. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN or RN licensure in the State of Florida preferred or CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential certification required. Minimum 3 years� experience in clinical documentation improvement required. Minimum 2 years managerial/director experience in a large healthcare system. Prior CDI experience required. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to review the medical record to identify information not yet documented but supported by clinical indicators or clinical clues. Utilizing critical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making processes, balancing reimbursement considerations with regulatory compliance. Ability to motivate employees to attain program and organizational goals. Ability to function in a highly impactful, fast-paced environment. Flexibility in prioritization a must. Understanding of E/M level selection and risk adjustment methodology (such as HCCs) including inpatient, emergency department, and outpatient visits in the professional setting. Clear Understanding of coding guidelines for compliance purposes. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong leadership skills. Licensure/Certification/Registration:: Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN), CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential required. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a �frequent driver�
