We are seeking an experienced CPA to lead our Tax Division, providing strategic oversight and hands-on management of all tax planning, compliance, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and extensive CPA experience including monitoring of individual client portfolio
performance and market conditions as well as tax planning and the preparation of individual returns. This senior leadership role will be responsible for managing a team of tax professionals, ensuring best practices in tax planning and compliance, and developing strategies to optimize clients’ tax situations as
part of a holistic financial plan. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to client service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Tax Division, providing strategic direction and developing short- and long-term tax planning initiatives aligned with company objectives.Develop and implement best practices in tax advisory services to optimize clients’ wealth preservation and tax efficiency.Stay updated on tax law changes, identifying their impact on clients and incorporating regulatory developments into the division’s strategies.Serve as a senior tax advisor for high-net-worth clients, offering insights and strategies to minimize tax liability while aligning with broader financial goals.Provide expertise on complex tax issues, including estate planning, retirement strategies, and tax efficient investment solutions.Partners with financial planning and investment teams to integrate tax considerations into comprehensive financial plans.Recruit, train, and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching to ensure team alignment with company standards and objectives.Oversee tax compliance processes to ensure accuracy, adherence to legal requirements, and timely filing.Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.Master’s in Taxation or equivalent is preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required or EA.5+ years of tax experience, with a minimum of 2 years preferred in a leadership role within financial planning, wealth management, or similar environment.Extensive knowledge of tax law, estate planning, and corporate tax regulations.Strong client relationship management skills with experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families.Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing tax teams.Some travel is required if not located in FL.Risk Strategies is the 9th largest privately held US brokerage firm offering comprehensive risk management advice, insurance and reinsurance placement for property & casualty, employee benefits, private client services, as well as consulting services and financial & wealth solutions.
