Job Title: Director of Web Technologies - Metro/Florham Campuses Campus: Metropolitan Campus, Teaneck, NJ Department: Communications & Marketing-Metro Hiring Manager: Angelo Carfagna Hiring Manager Title: Vice President for Communications College: Position Type: Professional Administrative Grade: 27 FLSA: Exempt Faculty Rank: Salary: Commensurate with Experience General Benefits Status: Full-Time Months Worked: 12 Month Job Summary: This position reports to the Director of Web Operations (WebOps). The incumbent provides creative and technical leadership in the creation and deployment of Web sites for the University. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining Web pages in support of the University’s marketing and education efforts, researching technical advances in web technology and operational efficiency, and providing tools for WebOps and other University staff to whom website maintenance is delegated. The incumbent is also responsible for Web site quality control on every important scale: security, reliability, ADA compliance, consistency, and performance. As with other WebOps positions, these service roles apply across both NJ campuses as well as Vancouver and Wroxton. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Communications, Marketing, Education, Design/Graphic Design; equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.2. Minimum of two years of experience required in the Web CMS/hosting environment, preferably including the WordPress environment, with strong project management skills.3. Minimum of two years of experience with Photoshop or other graphic editing software.4. Portfolio of one or more websites which the incumbent has either created or acted as administrator.5. Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS, related editors/tools, best practices, techniques of Responsive Web Design, and manual and automated web page coding and debugging.6. Knowledge of server programming in PHP and/or PERL and/or Python, and of client programming in JavaScript.7. Knowledge of server configuration and security, FTP, SFTP, commonly used Web browsers including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Apple Safari.8. Working knowledge of WCAG 2.0 or 2.1 and related standards for Web site accessibility.9. Working knowledge of CAPTCHA technologies, CANSPAM Act, third party forms services and other technologies that affect the University’s use of online forms. Ability to construct HTML forms that are WCAG AA compliant.10. Experience with production of Google Analytics reports and Adobe PDF documents desirable.11. Strong problem-solving skills required.12. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including course development and classroom instruction.13. Must be available to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends to respond to and resolve high priority problems.14. Valid driver’s license and access to transportation for travel between campuses.15. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
