Provide support to Underwriters and ensure exceptional customer service to both internal and external parties through a range of service functions as allocated. Consistently meet service levels and performance targets in terms of volume, accuracy and quality.

About the role:Key Responsibilities

Financial:

Meet individual underwriting expectations/targets to help team achieve budgeted financial objectives

Business Process:Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines, relevant underwriting authority and AIG principlesDevelop a pipeline of new business and manage existing relationships to maximize valueIdentify target accounts, and monitor progress against budget by utilising appropriate reports and tools (such as Pipeline Report, Hit Rate report, Web Reports, Renewal Register etc.)Properly use the designated Underwriting system(s) to streamline underwriting and information-tracking approach across Profit Centre. Input required data consistently and accurately.Provide support to our broker network in relation to assigned Financial Lines productMaintain accurate files, registers and records to contribute to management reporting and timely service and policy issuanceAssist in the implementation of business plans in accordance with Financial Lines and company directionAssist in training and mentoring of junior underwriters to increase their product knowledge, to help them gain underwriting authority

Customer and Sales:Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting.Exhibit sales orientated behaviors, defined by Management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.;Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.;Provide training to brokers on FL products as required either on one – to – one basis or as group presentation.;Provide support to broker by attending client meetings or providing client presentations as required.;Work with PCM and team to execute sales plan in identification of brokers and products to target.;Take responsibility for meeting individual new business targets set by PCM on assigned FL Product;Take responsibility for individual allocation of renewals.People:Liaise with Client Policy Servicing Team as policy and/or booking issues arise. Build relationships with brokers by attending and organizing regular broker events.; Ensure all brokers and clients are treated fairly.;Ensure customer-centric approach.Reporting/Compliance/Technical:Progress towards achieving minimum competency level as required and within the necessary timeframe.;Gain an understanding of relevant legislation, policy coverage, insurance program structures, risk management etc.;Conduct peer reviews as required.Ensure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.What we’re looking for:Prior Financial Lines experience. Ideally, some underwriting experience is desired; other relevant professional experience may substitute for underwriting experienceTechnical Knowledge on Directors & Officers (D&O) or Management Liability Underwriting is a must/minimum requirementStrong communication and presentation skills Strong interpersonal skills and team-spirited approachTime management - ability to handle multiple priorities, organize work and meet deadlinesStrong analytical and technical skillsAbility to network and build relationshipsOrganizational skillsCustomer and sales focusedTenacious, motivated, proactive
