Position Overview

The Director of Operations Enablement establishes the vision, leadership, and standards required to deploy the applications and technology solutions required for Paylocity Operations to meet its strategic objectives for growth, quality, effort reduction, and client retention. Responsibilities include assessing business needs to build a technology solution strategy, integrating requirements and resource demands across business units into high quality project plans that enable business initiatives, and managing organizational changes to limit the risk of business impact. The candidate will need to establish strong relationships with business unit leaders, partnerships with vendors and system integrators, and practices to manage demand across Operations.  


Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Planning 

Create and maintain a strategic plan for the deployment of enabling tools to support the needs of the business Partner with Ops leaders and process improvement teams to prioritize requests for technology initiatives Supports the organization through financial planning activities related to tools including annual budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary  

Project Management, Deployment, and Change Management 

Confer with end-users, clients, and management to define business requirements for complex tool deployments  Lead the successful implementation of technology solutions including discovery, planning, analysis, migration, delivery and governance  Provide effective cross functional communications and awareness of tool changes and enhancements Effectively manages project delivery risks including contingencies and mitigation strategies, communicating timely status updates and risk assessments to leadership and all business units 

Team Development and Vendor Management  

Develop a team of skilled and high performing, business analysts, program managers, and tool analysts Supervise staff members directly or indirectly, prioritizing workloads and providing input on performance appraisals and performance management issues Develops relationships with integration partners to ensure skilled resources ramp up to meet demands Build strategic relationships with vendors to meet the needs of the business on favorable terms  

Application Support and Governance 

Oversees service delivery tools and processes for existing tool implementations to provide effective governance and support Oversees the design, development, and installation of enhancements and upgrades to large scale systems and application software Monitors and evaluates the ROI for existing tools through evaluation efforts and external benchmarking Builds effective bug/enhancement processes as well as contingency and disaster recovery plans 

Education and Experience 

8+ years of leading, developing and implementing enterprise-wide systems and applications8-10 years of program/project management experience. Project management skills are required with proven track record including obtaining agreement on project definitions and priorities and ensuring that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place to deliver the project objectives on-time and per budget is required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, library science, related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience managing software vendors and implementing large scale systems Excellent understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities Experience in planning, organization and professional development Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously Knowledge of cloud computing principles. demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce.com Stays current on emerging technologies and trends in the field Comprehensive understanding of change management process and controls Strong process management, negotiating, influencing and problem resolution skills Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in the language of the business

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
