About the Role

LexisNexis Reed Tech has a Director, Production opening in the Horsham, PA office. This position is on site in the Horsham, PA office. The Director Pre-Grant Production directs Pre-Grant production processe(s) with responsibility for the overall management of the budget, staff, equipment and process in a team environment, with special emphasis on quality, customer service and productivity. Interaction and teamwork with supporting organizations is required in order to effectively meet expectations. The incumbent interacts with independence and autonomy and recommends process or system changes to increase competitiveness, effectiveness, and profitability. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations providing input to strategic direction as well as actively influencing and promoting RTIS values and culture. Typically, this position has five or more direct reports managing ~300 - 400 employees.

Responsibilities:
• Establishes, implements and manages the entire production process to drive ~50% of the USPTO contract revenue.
• Directs management team to meet daily production requirements, resolving production-related problems with the management team.
• Develops the department budget, manages, and monitors the budget on an ongoing basis, with input from department managers.
• Monitors staffing needs and ensures that adequate resources are available to meet production schedules and are consistent with the current operating plan and budget.
• Establishes and implements the production schedules, analyzing and determining project requirements based on needs of the customer, and communicates with management team from project inception through completion.
• Works collaboratively with the USPTO and the Reed Tech development team on a routine basis to implement statutory and other customer driven changes to the process.
• Fosters, identifies, recommends and implements continuous process improvements resulting in increased efficiency and cost savings.
• Reviews and updates current ISO procedures for functional areas.
• Monitors the production process to meet all committed deliverables quality standards per established schedules in a TQM and ISO certified environment.
• Establishes operational objectives and assignments for assigned area of responsibility, including identifying specific needs and develops training plan for all staff members in order to perform in a high-powered work team environment.
• Identifies, recommends and implements changes to policy and procedures.
• Maintains open and ongoing communication with customer, staff, vendors and support groups within Reed Tech.
• Provides ongoing feedback to staff relative to performance and expectations. Conducts regular performance evaluations and recommends compensation adjustments consistent with the current operating plan and budget.
• Authorizes staff’s recommendations regarding personnel actions including hiring, discipline, termination, promotion, etc., of employees.
• Supports and ensures compliance to HR policies, applying discretion to meet the needs of individual situations. Confers with and advises department managers and facilitators to ensure compliance when interpreting and integrating corporate policies and procedures.
• Performs other job related duties as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, management or equivalent.
• Five years related experience in a production environment including at least two years’ experience of progressive supervisory/management experience.
• Experience working in an electronic data environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management and employees.
• Ability to work and foster in a team environment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize production schedules.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills along with ability to solve problems.
• Ability to travel when needed.
