GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Assist the Chief Nurse Executive in directing all administrative components for designated areas of responsibilities, inclusive of all nursing care delivered in the Department of Nursing for AGH and Suburban campuses and affiliate hospital activities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and operationalizes an Annual Hospital Education Plan coordinating educational resources while creating synergy with other West Penn Allegheny Health System facilities. (20%)Provides a professional work environment through organizational analysis, strategic planning and sound management principles while practicing sound fiscal management for areas of responsibility. (20%)Demonstrates effective leadership skills. (10%)Ensures quality performance improvement and organizational compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and patient outcomes. (15%)Coordinates with key personnel to collect, monitor and distribute data and information in order to evaluate key initiatives that support the vision of the Department of Nursing. (10%)Collaborates with key hospital, community leadership, and management staff to facilitate, coordinate, communicate and educate performance initiatives and designations. (15%)Facilitates the Dept. of Nursing's readiness to implement new initiatives in the Sunrise system. (10%)QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Master's DegreeCurrent State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).5 years educational and managerial experienceCPR – American Heart AssociationAct 34 Criminal Background Clearance CertificateAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance CertificateAct 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance CertificatePreferred
