Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as the Director Programs 1 for the LRIP/FRP scope of the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), in Huntsville, AL. This position reports to the US IBCS Business Area Senior Director.  IBCS, which integrates disparate sensors and effectors, is the centerpiece of the US Army’s modernization of air and missile defense.

As the Director Programs 1, you will be responsible for program management of the LRIP/FRP Contract. You will directly supervise a diverse group of Program Managers managing cost, technical and schedule performance in areas including major end item production, Hardware Agile Release Train design activities, logistics, lab and test material, and test support.  You will interface extensively with the end customer.  In addition to driving successful execution of the core activities of the LRIP/FRP contract, you will also be expected to drive organic growth of the effort.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Support the US IBCS Business Area Senior Director in achieving the organization’s programmatic, financial and strategic objectivesCollaborate with the Synchronization Cell lead and coordinate with the program manager for the IBCS Agile Software Development contractDirect activities for broad and growing contract, enhancing ongoing program operations, to ensure that critical goals are achieved Oversee elements of the program including production, engineering services (e.g. design & logistics) and lab/test material, and training devices Drive rigor in program management, including EVMS, in executionServe as a primary POC with end customer’s hardware teamSupport development of Long Range Strategic Plan (AOP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Establish and execute strategies and key initiatives in support of the strategic planDrive the coordination of resource management, including analysis of program staffing, growth, and skills projections for the AOP and LRSP period Ensure coordination across all functions and guide the development and execution of robust plans (IT, security, facilities, etc.)Oversee management of risks, issues and critical actions in collaboration with the Program Managers and support functions and ensure resolution

Basic Qualifications:

Proven ability to build and lead a program management team to successful outcomesBachelor’s degree with 10+ years of program management experience or Master’s degree and 8+ years of program management experienceMinimum of 3 years of production program management experienceDemonstrated expertise in production program execution and/or manufacturing and integrationProven proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Demonstrated ability to manage Risk and OpportunityExceptional communication, presentation and collaboration skillsExperience briefing Sector-level leadership of a multi-billion dollar organizationDemonstrated experience with establishing customer intimacyActive DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with command and control systems and air and missile defenseExperience working with the US ArmyProgram management experience on an ACAT-1 programMaster’s degree and 10+ years of program management experience4+ years of production program management experienceProject Management Professional certification, or similarActive DoD Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $200,100.00 - $300,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
