The Director PTC Operations will be responsible for managing and coordinating a team of network specialists to monitor and manage all PTC, network, and back-office system related issues to ensure that the required service levels and performance targets are achieved.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing large scale IP networks, railroad C&S systems and network monitoring systems Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related area; or, equivalent experience Demonstrated acumen with regulatory requirements including FRA and OSHA regulations Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and tools to create efficiency and accelerate changeSkills:
Strong system and data analysis skills Detailed understanding of performance improvement processes Communication skills at interpersonal and group levels Build trust in relationships Proven ability to lead by example to foster positive cross functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders Must be organized and detail oriented Excellent written, verbal, and presentational skillsKey Accountabilities:
Develop Network Operations Center (NOC)
Create robust processes and procedures for the operations and management of the NOC Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement performance and reliability measurements for the PTC and related systemsOversee and manage NOC Operations
Oversee and control incident management systems Act as escalation point for large system issues with significant exposureImplement a robust remote monitoring program
Identify and develop system alerts Identify and escalate trending issues Implement automated reporting to aid in failure identification, issue trending and action planningRespond to urgent or significant wayside failures
Respond on location to significant outages or service failures Act as liaison for field team to resolve complex failure scenariosManage team of five network operations specialist
Build, lead and manage the NOC team and integrate them into the operational businessSupport Engineering Systems
Provide technical support, guidance and direction to Engineering teams in relation to communication system, back office systems and engineering networkAdditional Statements:
