Key Responsibilities:

The Director - Quality Control is a pivotal role within Technical Operations, primarily tasked with overseeing and implementation of quality control policies and procedures in accordance with 14CFR121.369(8) and 14CFR121.371b, and United’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMPS). Lead a team of Sr. Managers, Managers, Supervisors and Inspectors, this role is essential in setting and implementing quality standards and protocols to align with industry regulations and United/Division goals.

Implement long term strategy from the Managing Director/Chief Inspector, along with United and Division goals, including leadership development, establishing goals, plans, and performance standards.Direct Technical Operations Quality Control locations, by supporting, mentoring, coaching, maintaining employee engagement, and consistent expectations across work groups and functional areas. Lead and develop an elite team of highly qualified and focused Management and hourly employees and continue to educate the next generation of inspection team members.Leadership member of the Air Carriers Inspection Unit in compliance with 14CFR121.369(8) and 14CFR121.371B and such has inspection decision authority and responsibility. Ensures all procedures and inspections are conducted in accordance with Federal Air Regulations and United Airlines Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMPS).Mentoring and collaborating with Technical Operations and United workgroups to ensure quality systems, safety goals, and regulatory compliance is met and exceeded. Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, regulators, FAA, and internal departments to ensure scope and depth of oversight. Supervising all quality control metrics, reporting results to relative partners and leadership.Improve operational performance, training & compliance, financial controls, capital plans, staffing forecasts/resource requirements, and overtime controls.Lead the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) program, ensuring the program is developed and maintained providing world-class standards and guidelines.
