THE POSITION

\n\n

We are hiring for a Director of Quality Engineering who reports to the Tempe Plant Manager and has a matrix reporting relationship with the Mechanical Operation Center Senior Director of Quality. You will be responsible for providing quality support to the Tempe site.  You will lead a 65-person organization.  Develop the strategic direction for the team and the initiatives that will continually improve our customer quality performance.  You will also be involved daily in the detailed project of the team and be responsible to lead projects.

\n\n

The position requires a breadth of technical experience across multiple programs and products, both electrical and mechanical, in order to effectively communicate with the site, regulators, and customers. You have experience in managing globally diverse teams, effectively communicating with senior management, developing a strategic strategy, handling multiple priorities, influencing, and solving complex problems with incomplete information..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n\n

 

\n\n\n\tDevelop strong growth plans for each team member\n\tSupport and provide direction to a globally located team\n\tLead and drive Quality Improvement Plan for site\n\tEstablishment and maintenance of customer relationships, delivery of proactive communication to senior leadership\n\tDeveloping, validating, and approving ISC / Engineering Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) resulting from customer quality investigations\n\tInfluence site quality actions on customer quality performance indicators:  Voice of Customer (VOC) / Escapes / Disclosures\n\n\n

U.S. CITIZEN REQUIREMENTS

\n\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

\n\n

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\n\n\tBachelor’s Degree\n\t10+ years’ experience in a Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, or Science related role\n\n\n

 

\n\n

WE VALUE

\n\n\n\tSix Sigma Greenbelt certification, TPS, or other Lean manufacturing\n\tWorking knowledge of aerospace quality practices including regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. AS9100, FAA, EASA, and Government Regulations)\n\tStrong computer skills\n\tStrong communication skills both verbal and written\n\tExperience with project management and facilitation\n\tAbility to interface effectively with all levels of leadership\n\tExperience within the aerospace industry and a variety of products, customers, and regulatory environments\n\t5+ years of progressive leadership roles of increasing levels of responsibility\n\tEffective interpersonal skills to interface within and between culturally diverse organizations\n\tProven problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret business performance and financial data, define actions, and implement solutions\n\tExcellent team-building skills, creating constructive and open environments for sharing data\n\tExperience in managing global virtual work groups\n\n\n
