Director Resourcing and Project Management, Audit and Advisory Services
As the Senior Director of Resourcing, you will be responsible for ensuring all North America audits are staffed with resources that meet the business knowledge, technical requirements, and location needs for each audit project. This role supports the North America Audit and Advisory teams, comprising 15 outstanding teams. You will lead project assignments for approximately 70 staff members. Additionally, you will support the career development of our audit team members and lead the project management activities that support the development and delivery of the annual audit plan. This newly established role is crucial in supporting the audit practice to provide high-quality, professional, and valuable Assurance and Advisory services. Through effective coordination, strategic talent management, and proactive planning, you will help champion a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth, ensuring that the audit team is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the organization. **Position Responsibilities:** **Career Development and Project Assignment** + Complete and maintain a talent gap analysis in coordination with the Audit Leadership Team to identify and address skill gaps among audit staff. + Develop and maintain a process to identify the skills and knowledge of each staff member. + Use the above information to advise decisions on filling vacancies, identifying training needs, and staffing projects, including Assurance, Advisory, and departmental initiatives, to support the career growth and development of audit staff. **Audit Planning and Resource Forecasting** + Manage the intake process and tools to identify staffing needs for projects, including vital skills and specific preferences, and schedule staff accordingly to support project requirements and staff development. + Develop and maintain methodologies and tools for audit resource planning, ensuring all staff are properly utilized and audit timelines are met. **Leadership** + Act as a mentor and coach to audit staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals. + Establish and supervise key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate the efficiency of this function. + Identify improvement opportunities for audit project management processes across the different audit teams. **Project Management Support** + Lead the development and delivery of the annual audit plan and achievement of our strategic initiatives. + Support the global audit leadership team with data and analysis to help them lead and deliver on their mandate. **Challenges/Opportunities:** + Meeting the staffing needs of 15 different audit teams across various fields with a pool of 70 audit staff possessing diverse skills and experience. + Handling the scheduling of staff on approximately 100 audits annually, plus annual ICFR work. + Adapting to audit project timelines that deviate from the original plan + Prioritization and time management to meet project and objective commitments while maintaining flexibility. **Required Qualifications:** + Demonstrated experience in project and resource management, as well as talent development. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic attitude **Preferred Qualifications:** + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships and influence stakeholders. + PMP certificate as well as proficiency in scheduling tools are preferred **When you join our team:** + We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. + We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. + As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see. **About Manulife and John Hancock** Manulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
