Position Responsibilities:

Plans, directs and monitors all operations, functions and resources to assure optimal and safe patient care in the delivery of pulmonary and respiratory care services. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local and professional regulations and practice guidelines associated with the delivery of pulmonary and respiratory care services. Directs and monitors the allocation of staffing and technical support to assure compliance with safety standards as well as labor and productivity targets. Directs the development of educational programs and profession's scope of practice. Implements financial policies, accounting system, cost controls and budgeting reviews for the Pulmonary and Respiratory Services. Utilizes resources to generate a high impact and remain within budget figures.        Analyzes operational reports to establish departmental progress, impact and areas of opportunity. Sets forth appropriate recommendations and action plans. Stays abreast of latest trends and practices in the Respiratory field. Creatively applies new concepts and practices to evolve and upgrade the impact of department staff and activities over the provided services. Actively participates on national and local Pulmonary / Respiratory meetings and events. Directs all departmental Quality Assessment projects ensuring all JCAHO, HRS, CAP requirements are met. Serves as liaison between medical staff and administration. Maintains accreditation standards within the Pulmonary and Respiratory Services staff.

  

Qualifications:

Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS Certification. Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Business or Clinical Administration fields preferred. Five to eight years combined clinical and management experience.
