The Director - Risk & Quakity is r esponsible for directing and managing the risk and quality functions of the Nevada operations in accordance with US Anesthesia Partners’ risk and quality management program. Utilizes interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and resolve issues involving a diverse group of healthcare, legal and insurance professionals.

Job Highlights
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : ( The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)
+ Provides overall direction, management and support for the risk and quality program and serves as a resource for risk and quality inquiries.
+ In coordination with national efforts, develops and implements policies, procedures and processes and training.
+ In coordination with national efforts, develops and implements a monitoring process to measure success of the risk and quality program.
+ In coordination with national efforts, develops a comprehensive and pro-active risk program for all lines of risk to decrease the frequency and severity of liability exposure, minimize risk and promote employee and patient safety.
+ Coordinates the investigation and resolution of incident reports, adverse events, patient concerns and performs root cause analyses when necessary; monitors data for trends and implements training or other interventions to reduce risk and improve quality.
+ Coordinates gathering of documents and information for insurance program and assists supervisor in renewal process.
+ Maintains loss runs of open and closed claims for reporting and analysis.
+ In coordination with national efforts, develops and maintains a process for the timely investigation, notification, filing of claims and consultation with insurance carriers, appropriate regulatory agencies and attorneys.
+ Directs and responds to subpoenas, document and release of information requests.
+ Facilitates the development of an annual quality improvement plan in conjunction with the Continuous Quality Improvement committee.
+ Promotes patient safety through the implementation of quality measures, strategies and benchmarks established by national quality organizations and the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.
+ Directs the collection of data relevant to performance improvement, patient safety, patient care outcomes and national reporting requirements.
+ Provides support to the Continuous Quality Improvement committee and other committees including agenda development, gathering of data, and preparation of reports and minutes.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):
+ Bachelor’s Degree required.
+ 3-5 years minimum experience in either risk management or quality management in a healthcare settingrequired at this level.
+ Strong communication skills with patients and clinicians.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to present materials in a concise and detailed manner, individually and in groups.
+ Ability to work in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point; database administration skills required.
+ Ability to work independently with limited supervision required.
+ RN or other clinical license/background preferred.
+ CPHQ or CPHRM certification preferred.
