Primary Purpose The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for all sales activities within their defined territory to continually drive revenue growth and achieve sales objectives. This position continually works to design plans that meet sales targets while developing and maintaining relationships with clients and continually evaluating customer needs to identify areas where USS products and services can be utilized. Essential Functions Develop a strategic territory plan for reliably delivering financial growth and regional account development Assign sales territories to sales representatives, coordinate sales activities, quotas, and goals Partner with marketing and business intelligence functions to formulate regional sales strategy Execute marketing plans to develop local referenceable customers and increase brand awareness Accountable for attracting, developing, and retaining the highest quality talent available in the marketplace Manage the performance and professional development of the sales team with coaching and providing learning opportunities Communicate USS sales vision/processes, create business plans and provide organizational updates to the sales team Analyze sales data intelligence to drive sales strategies within the region Monitor and control expenditures of the region to align with budgetary requirements Represent USS in the community to enhance business relationships and to increase brand awareness Ensure ethical business practices Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competitive companies Champion, demonstrate and uphold our core values: customer-centric, respect, integrity, teamwork, responsible, accountability, & winning Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Sales has supervisory responsibilities for the Sector Account Managers (SAM), Territory Account Managers (TAM) and Key Account Managers (KAM) in their defined geographic region Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Min/Preferred Education Level Description Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience EXPERIENCE Minimum Years of Experience Comments 7 of relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years leading sales professionals ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Sales Process/Methodologies - Clearly understands the elements of a sales process, and implementation within USS Planning / Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems efficiently; gathers and analyzes information; develops solutions; uses reason, with a bias to execute quickly Written and Oral Communication – Communicates clearly and persuasively both in writing and verbally; listens and seeks clarification when necessary; Responds informatively to questions; expresses self clearly and positively, both verbally and in writing Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional client situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits client feedback to improve service; meets commitments Project Management - Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; manages project team activities Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality Adaptability - Evolves to meet changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; handles change, delays, or unexpected events Team Player – Serves as key player and operates well within the organization; consistently provide strength-based feedback to team members; key contributor to a high-functioning team that is successful and positive; helps maintain the upbeat and motivational nature of our culture Other required skills: Meeting Sales Goals, Motivation for Sales, Territory Management, Presentation Skills, Performance Management, Building Relationships, Emphasizing Excellence, Negotiation, Results Driven, Sales Planning, Managing Profitability Physical Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Demand Frequency Sit while driving and stand while meeting customers Frequent Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls Frequent Repeat the same movements when entering data Frequent See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and at greater distance Constant Speak clearly so listeners can understand Constant Understand the speech of another person Constant Focus on one source of sound and ignore others Frequent Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them Frequent See differences between colors, shades and brightness Frequent Benefits Summary All full-time employees working an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the below benefits. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications.
