We have an exciting remote opportunity for a Director & Sr Counsel, Global Trade Investigations & Disclosures to join our team!  

What You Will Do:

This position will own responsibility for Pratt & Whitney’s GT I&D program, which includes, without limitation: (i) the structural design, staffing and deployment of the GT I&D team; (ii) determining strategy to manage and investigate Pratt & Whitney’s high volume of GT matters in an increasingly complex and changing regulatory climate, which requires re-prioritization and redirection of resources from time-to-time; (iii) ensuring appropriate scope and development of corrective actions following GT  investigations, in order to ensure proper risk mitigation; (iv) acting as Pratt & Whitney’s liaison with the RTX GT teams with respect to GT360 matters and government disclosures regarding GT matters; (v) owning legal responsibility for the drafting of Pratt & Whitney’s disclosures regarding GT matters, whether that involves drafting or review of drafts prepared by other Pratt & Whitney lawyers; (vi) directly leading an investigations portfolio of significant and/or complex GT and non-GT Compliance matters; and (vii) regularly communicating with the Pratt & Whitney Compliance Executive Leadership Team and UTC’s Vice President, ITC, and business executives on matters.
 

You will also serve as lead attorney and supervisor for the GT Investigations & Disclosures function for P&W, responsible for investigating potential violations of GT law, regulation, or policy and (as appropriate) drafting and submitting any necessary government disclosures, with duties including:

Managing a team of attorneys and investigators reviewing potential violations of GT laws, regulations, and internal policies, including coordination of matters with the larger RTX GT functionManaging the workload for the investigators within the group and assisting in the tracking of the group’s investigation matters within RTX’s electronic matter management tool, including managing the review and analysis of matter trends for larger reporting to P&W and RTX Compliance functionsActing as Compliance Counsel, supporting non-attorney investigators in their performance of GT investigationsWorking collaboratively with members of the larger Global Compliance team to provide investigation status updates and working with business colleagues to identify root causes and robust corrective actions for potential escapesReviewing and drafting disclosures to the relevant regulators where violations of law have been identifiedCoordinate with counterparts at RTX, Collins, and Raytheon to pursue consistent, aligned approaches for addressing compliance matters and concerns common across the RTX enterpriseIn all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with all applicable RTX and P&W policies, which includes ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply with and support these policiesResponsible for the completion of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by cognizant management

Qualifications You Must Have:

Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and 12+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years of Global Trade experienceGood standing with a state bar association and in-house counsel registration in a timely manner following hireUS Citizenship required, due to government contracts, programs and projectsAbility to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
