**Overview**
In collaboration with Program Medical Leadership, effects the implementation of the respective strategic plans into operations (inpatient and clinic services) for the Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies Program. Ensures the delivery of consistently high levels of quality care and service that meet and/or exceed clinical expectations. Assures the coordination, direction, and collaboration of services and resources related to the Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies Program as well as achieving productivity, financial and operational goals. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of business and marketing plans in collaboration with M Health Business Development leadership, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and budgets for the program in collaboration with the Cancer Care and Women's and Children's Service Lines. Creates and maintains strategic linkages with key stakeholders internal and external to the program. Develops and manages close collaborative working relationships with inpatient nursing and clinic leadership, as well as other medical disciplines, administrative leaders, and operational leaders. Achieve volume growth targets in a research driven academic teaching organization. This position will work within existing systems and processes to facilitate budgetary, purchasing, payroll, personnel, and accounting operations to achieve business and clinical objectives with other partners. Supports the mission and strategic direction for M Health Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies Program in concert with the key stake holders. This position reports directly to the Cancer Care Service Line and the Women's and Children's Service Line.
**Responsibilities Job Description**
Key Accountabilities:
1. Effectively implement business plan into clinical and program operations management.
2. Growth of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies and related business and margin while assuming incremental costs, as detailed in the Business Plan.
3. Ensures the delivery of consistently high levels of quality care and service that meet and/or exceed clinical expectations.
4. Ensure Accreditation standards are met.
5. Maintain FACT accreditation and other accreditations as required.
6. Effectively manage within matrix structure.
7. Work to extend clinical referral relationships across the state, the region, as well as nationally and internationally.
8. Maintain regulatory compliance.
9. Maintain alignment with M health Fairview operations and strategies.
10. Move new clinical therapies from research pipeline into clinical practice.
11. Evaluate opportunities to make most efficient use of resources between the adult and BMT services where appropriate.

Manages Performance Improvement initiatives, including patient experience, cost/case, reducing variation in practice, and other quality improvement initiatives.
Provides financial expertise and advice to service line senior and operational management. Coordinates with service line operations management, UMPhysicians and AHC as necessary to assure financial support needed to grow and improve service line performance.
Has major input into Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program strategic planning, outreach, quality assurance, and performance improvement.
Serves as focal point for all service line analysis including budget variances, progress vs. plans\proformas, operating trends etc. Provides financial analysis related to existing or proposed financial models implemented to align incentives with physicians
Coordinates with Central Business Office to assure that billing processes and systems are adequate to bill services rendered in accordance with contract terms and regulatory requirements. Assures audit processes are in place to monitor reimbursement consistent with contract and government terms. Provides feedback and training to operational areas to assure compliance with contract terms and timely, accurate reimbursement.
Collaborates with Revenue Management to develop competitive pricing and contracting strategies related to service line. Collaborates with Revenue Management, UMMC and physician representatives to support negotiations of contracts with third party payers. Leads development and implementation of a process to identify new technology that should be incorporated into payer contracts. Supports Revenue Management in negotiating technology advances into contracts and developing prospective approaches to educating payers on efficacy of new devices, procedures, and protocols.

· Bachelor’s Degree
**Experience**
· 5 or more years of leadership experience in a complex organization including project management, collaborative decision-making, knowledge of healthcare and process skills. Experience leading physicians or multi-disciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes.

· Experience in an academic medical setting. Blood and Marrow Transplantation experience. Blood and Marrow Transplantation/Oncology clinical background/knowledge. Background in an academic medical setting including research experience. Experience reporting to a governing Board and business experience.

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
