Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Global Strategy for Vertical Industries and New Market Business Development. This position will provide leadership and support to the Japan country leader, APAC region, and corporate for the development and implementation of our Japan business strategy and Solutions (P&S) team’s strategic development function and activities. The Director, Strategic Development will work closely with regional and corporate leaders within all Zebra functional areas. The Director, Strategic Development will lead existing growth prior implementation processes and work with our in-country Japan Sr. Director of Sales to create and manage a multi year business strategy that establilshes new strategic partner relationships, greater tech-stack influence, and expanded end-user customer c-suite access.
Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in support and in collaboration with our country sales leader to develop a unified business development and GTM implementation strategy.Serve as the bridge between Japan business market requirement and corporate office USA based functional leader teams to ensure growth priorities are supported and implemented successfully.Define, design, and document specific business development requirements that are necessary for Zebra to achieve 2X current market growth rates which include but are not limited to a pricing, inventory positions, route-to market direct fulfillment, ecosystem recruitment, market segmentation / target customers, and portfolio strategies. Prioritize the investments needed across Zebra to achieve 2X market growth rates and establish business return on investment metrics to support investments. Create and manage a Zebra functional leader global and region operations model (Virtual Japan Inc. Business Unit) to ensure marketplace requirements are implemented in a repeatable and scalable manner. Develop an industry and ecosystem market-map defining prioritized taxonomy segments, LOB personas, and tech-stack (Keiretsu) company representation specific to each prioritized industry segment.Recruit and cultivate new strategic partner relationships and enable gradual Zebra integration into the Keiretsu systems within our prioritized vertical industry segments. Qualifications:A deep understanding of the Japanese business culture combined with an extensive history working for companies in the Japan market. A track record achieving business development, revenue growth, and-or strategy success in the Japan business to business technology industry. Ability to translate Japan business requirements to USA based corporate office functional leaders and to manage successful implementation of prioritized initiatives with these teams. A strategic acumen and an ability to think and act holistically across all business functions areas. An equal proficiency in both executive level managerial functions and as an individual contributor with exacting attention to detail and ability to produce presentations, business plans, business cases, and operating plans. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese languages. Reside in Japan, Tokyo preferred. Able to work in time zone of USA while residing in Japan, intermittingly / occasionally 30 to 40% travel with extended periods of continuous working time in the USA to coordinate and implement prioritized growth initiatives with corporate office functional leader teams.
