**Job Summary:**
The Director - Sustainable Planning and Design will be a highly experienced and results-oriented professional responsible for leading and managing all aspects of sustainable planning and design within the NEOM The Line project. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainable development principles, urban planning, and environmental science, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy for The Line, ensuring the integration of environmental, social, and economic considerations into all aspects of the project.
+ Lead and manage a team of sustainability professionals, including urban planners, environmental scientists, and sustainability consultants.
+ Coordinate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, urban planners, and community members, to ensure the integration of sustainability principles into the design and development of The Line.
+ Oversee the development and implementation of sustainable infrastructure, including renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, and waste management systems.
+ Promote the use of sustainable building materials and construction practices.
+ Develop and implement strategies for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.
+ Monitor and evaluate the environmental and social impacts of the project and make necessary adjustments to minimize negative impacts.
+ Develop and implement policies and guidelines related to sustainability within The Line.
+ Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sustainable development and best practices in green building and urban planning.
+ Contribute to the development of a sustainable and resilient city that minimizes its environmental footprint.
+ Represent Parsons in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
+ Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
+ Promote a culture of sustainability throughout the project.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university.
+ Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
+ Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in sustainable development, urban planning, or environmental management.
+ Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
+ In-depth knowledge of sustainable development principles, environmental science, and urban planning.
+ Experience with the development and implementation of sustainable urban development plans.
+ Strong understanding of environmental impact assessment and environmental management systems.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
+ Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
