Job Summary:

The Director - Sustainable Planning and Design will be a highly experienced and results-oriented professional responsible for leading and managing all aspects of sustainable planning and design within the NEOM The Line project. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainable development principles, urban planning, and environmental science, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy for The Line, ensuring the integration of environmental, social, and economic considerations into all aspects of the project.

Lead and manage a team of sustainability professionals, including urban planners, environmental scientists, and sustainability consultants.

Coordinate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, urban planners, and community members, to ensure the integration of sustainability principles into the design and development of The Line.

Oversee the development and implementation of sustainable infrastructure, including renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, and waste management systems.

Promote the use of sustainable building materials and construction practices.

Develop and implement strategies for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

Monitor and evaluate the environmental and social impacts of the project and make necessary adjustments to minimize negative impacts.

Develop and implement policies and guidelines related to sustainability within The Line.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sustainable development and best practices in green building and urban planning.

Contribute to the development of a sustainable and resilient city that minimizes its environmental footprint.

Represent Parsons in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and sustainability standards.

Promote a culture of sustainability throughout the project.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university.

Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.

Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in sustainable development, urban planning, or environmental management.

Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.

In-depth knowledge of sustainable development principles, environmental science, and urban planning.

Experience with the development and implementation of sustainable urban development plans.

Strong understanding of environmental impact assessment and environmental management systems.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
