Aspirus Health in WAUSAU, WI is seeking a DIRECTOR- SYSTEM NURSING INFORMATICS to join our Nursing Administration team!
The Director System Nursing Informatics serves as strategic liaison for health information representing the workforce by collaborating with nursing, medical staff and technology in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of information technology solutions that impact the practice of professional nursing and clinical care delivery.
The Director System Nursing Informatics creates and maintains the processes by which Aspirus Health targets regular electronic health record (EHR) improvements using a governance structure that includes key stakeholders throughout the system.
The Director System Nursing Informatics will design and optimize clinical workflows leveraging technology to achieve clinical efficiency, care variation reduction, and growth. This role will be expected to design roadmaps that are aligned with the strategic goals of Aspirus Health, objectives of the nursing care model, and in meeting regulatory, accreditation and organizational quality of care and safety standards.
The Director System Nursing Informatics is a domain expert in the use of IT to transform nursing practice and maintains in-depth knowledge of healthcare topics, evidence-based nursing practice, technology, and analytics.
The Director System Nursing Informatics leads with a system-thinking perspective driving change management to ensure successful adoption while maximizing the value of technology investments that support clinical care. The Director System Nursing Informatics is responsible for the management of the nursing informatics practice and promotes an environment where all nursing staff can flourish through professional development, improvement in workflow, optimization of talent and resources, implementation and validation of best practices, consistent and clear communication including closed loop feedback, real time coaching, support of high reliability methods and tools, and creating opportunities for staff to have a voice in decisions that impact practices.

Experience/Qualifications
Valid and current Wisconsin or Michigan registered nurse license or compact license.Bachelor’s degree in nursing from accredited school required (BSN).Master’s degree in nursing or informatics required. Master’s degree in information systems is optional.Certification in nursing leadership or informatics highly desired.Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Practice preferred (DNP).A valid and current Wisconsin or Michigan registered nurse license or compact license is required.Epic certification in clinical modules is highly desired.ANCC certification in healthcare informatics is highly desired. Membership of professional associations (e.g., HIMMS, ACHE, etc.) desired.Minimum five years direct clinical care.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a progressive informatics leadership position within an integrated healthcare system.Extensive experience working with Epic core systems.Demonstrated success in leading teams.Demonstrated success driving the adoption of innovative IT capabilities resulting in significant realized value.Demonstrated success leading the design, development, configuration, support, and adoption of large and enterprise-wide solutions including examples where leading without direct authority was a critical success factor.Demonstrated success in the use of data to drive operational improvements and efficiencies.development and implementation of budgets, strategies, and standards.Demonstrates leadership and complex organizational management skills. Demonstrates ability to successfully work within a highly matrix organization with large footprint.Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and follow through on commitments. Ability to manage different perspectives and find win-win solutions.Utilizes strong financial/analytical skills, verbal/written communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills, decision-making ability, and the ability to develop/mentor staff.
