What you’ll be working on:

Supports Savers visions by managing the tax planning, reporting, and compliance function. 

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for tax matters, such as planning, corporate restructuring projects, mergers and acquisitions related to transaction analysis, due diligence and post merger integrationDevelop key corporate tax strategies to minimize world wide tax burden.Monitor company's transfer pricing policies and related documentation Monitor legislative changes in foreign tax laws that may impact company's tax positions, including tax accounting implications Supervises and manages the Tax team in the execution and delivery of services by hiring, training, coaching and mentoring staff.Collaborates with the Controller and other managers to identify and analyze tax-related business opportunities and tax strategies that reduce the Company’s tax expense or improve cash flow.  Researches tax issues and prepares appropriate documentation.Prepares and/or reviews all federal, state, and foreign tax returns and related working papers for the United States, Canada and Australia. Prepares and reconciles the annual financial statement tax provision and balance sheet accounts.  Prepares and provides information for the annual external financial audit.   Responds and manages tax authority inquiries and audits.  Provides information for settlement negotiations.Monitors tax legislation relevant to Savers and informs those groups that might be affected by any legislative change.Responds to questions or requests for information from team members and external contacts.  Participates on and leads department or companywide projects to support the Company’s goals and objectives. What you have:Working knowledge of federal, multi-state and international tax law and reporting requirementsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and OutlookWorking knowledge of tax procedures and processesWorking knowledge of financial databases and systems Demonstrated supervisory, management and leaderships skillsDemonstrated planning and organization skillsDemonstrated customer service skillsAbility to identify problems and recommend solutionsAbility to make or influence decisionsAbility to interact with all levels of the organizationAbility to be detail-oriented and to see the “Big Picture”Ability to communicate orally and in writingAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervisionAbility to think and act as a business owner in the thrift industryAbility to work independently or as part of a teamAbility to participate on and lead projectsAbility to maintain confidentiality of all informationAbility to work within Savers culture


Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field10+ years’ experience in tax reporting, including federal, multi-state, and international tax planning and compliance 3+ years’ experience managing team membersLicense as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalentPreferred: Big 4 Accounting Firm experience

 

Physical Requirements:

 

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication, and to make discriminations in sound. Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic).
