Business Context

This opportunity to lead the European Infrastructure Technology and Services (ITS) team has arisen following internal mobility and business growth within the region. This role forms part of the European Technology Management team as well as the global ITS Management team and can be based in either the UK or Ireland.

Position Overview

Position Summary

We are looking for a European Head of Infrastructure to lead a significant technology delivery function and hold accountability for driving process improvement / transformation including strategic planning, oversight, implementation of complex transformational, and strategic initiatives for TD Securities in Europe

You will liaise and influence across the organization and have significant exposure to and interaction with local and global business executives and functional stakeholders Enterprise-wide.

This Director-level role leads a team of 35 located between London, Dublin and Belfast.

This role reports into the UK Chief Information Officer locally and functionally into the Global Head of ITS for TD Securities.

Given the nature of the role and the business, it is expected that the individual will work largely onsite due to the people and stakeholder management requirements of the position.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Help shape TD's technology delivery management function's strategic direction by bringing strategies to life in support of TD's overall business vision.Plan, lead, manage and/or oversee a diverse set of activities and integrate them effectively across multiple functional areas.Responsible for regional Data Centres, Compute, Networks, Third Party Connectivity, Trader Telephony, AV, Service Delivery and the Global Service Desk located in Belfast.People management for six regional direct reports and a wider team of 35, and the ability to continue to lead and build an effective team to support the regional business.Responsible for regional infrastructure risk and control, working closely with standards owners and internal risk partnersInfrastructure subject matter expertise demonstrated by contributing to complex, wide-ranging enterprise-wide, cross-function or business-specific projects and initiatives and play an instrumental role in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting their implementation.The ability to pinpoint issues, seize opportunities, know the industry trends and provide specialized technology delivery management advice to senior management and respective teams.Advocate for and manage relationships with business teams, as well as corporate and control functions.Assess, identify, and escalate key issues appropriately, recommend actions.Ensure that business operations comply with internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, duty segregation, transaction approvals, and physical asset control).Own your reputation as an infrastructure subject matter expert by identifying risks and providing guidance for complex situations.Own and manage finances for the regional infrastructure organization, including the annual forecast and budget process for the region, as well as cost optimization efforts.

Job Requirements:

Build effective relationships with key business partners within and across business units, and ensure the delivery of financial and customer benefits to business units.Lead teams and collaborate with a diverse range of business leaders and stakeholders on why/how to reduce variation, make better decisions, and ultimately improve results.Plan and lead teams in the execution and integrated implementation of transformational initiatives for infrastructure services.Ensure ongoing prioritization of project initiatives, direct linkage to respective business unit key performance indicators, and achievement of process improvement savings.Oversee the planning and execution of recommended solutions, and ensure they improve quality and eliminate waste. Lead the team to execute on recommendations.Ensure effective communication between the team and key stakeholders and/or partners by adapting style and technique to a diverse audience, throughout the planning, execution and delivery of process improvement and/or transformation initiatives.

Qualifications end Experience:

Minimum of an undergraduate degree with a related major (business, operations, engineering/technical, mathematics) or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required.7+ years' experience minimum and 10+ years' strongly preferred.Experience within the Financial Services industry preferred, along with an appreciation of the business landscape.Ability to assume accountability for a significant technology delivery area both in terms of BAU Operations and Change Management activities.Enterprise or functional expertise, which requires broad managerial and deep specialized knowledge at the business, regulatory and industry levels.Confidence and ability to undertake and complete a variety of complex initiatives (may manage and prioritize multiple projects at a given time) that require seasoned specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross-functional processes (focus may be on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater).Thought leadership and/or industry knowledge specific (but not limited to) your own area of expertise.Strength in working directly with senior and executive management.Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership locally and globally.Ability to be the "voice" of the region at global forums and to ensure that regional business needs are understood and catered to.Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives.

Other

Occasional travel required between European locations – London, Dublin and Belfast and to meet key partners and stakeholders in Toronto/New York.
