Come build your future, while being the reason millions of people find a brighter financial future with Discover. **Job Description:** **What You’ll Do** The Director, Tech Transformation – Horizontal Integration role is a leadership position tasked with driving the transformation & modernization agenda within the company. This leader will be responsible for the successful planning, development and execution of all technology integrations for our Enterprise Functions (Customer Success, Corporate Services, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Risk Management) as we merge with Capital One. This is a people leader role that will oversee a team of strategy and program management leads to manage the portfolio of work across the technology organizations. Serve as the main POC for Discover and Capital One Technology leadership for this portfolio of initiatives, partnering with Technology Leads throughout the organization and their teams. This leader will be a strategic leader and thought partner for how we should approach the integration in the most efficient and optimal way for Discover and Capital One stakeholders and customers. This leader should have working knowledge of the technologies employed for the Enterprise. The role requires a balance of having an immense curiosity and drive to seek a better way, deep understanding of industry benchmarks and competitive landscape, familiarity with automation principles and strategies, balanced with thorough company context to implement change in an impactful and scalable way. The job requires the ability to communicate strategies and approach to executives and senior leaders, while translating work and accountabilities down to junior team members who are driving critical efforts. The job requires true thought leader and agent of change – understanding and disciplined problem solving, but also requires forward thinking, pushing for excellence, embracing ambiguity, and dreaming big and driving even bigger impact across the team. Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization. **How You’ll Do It** + Leads high-performing team(s) focused on process design, continuous improvement, and automation to identify transformation opportunities and quantify resulting impact. + Leads the development of projects, resultant project plans and execution related to transformation initiative(s) through project teams comprised of experts across various functions within and outside the organization. + Develops and coaches individuals and high-performing teams, serving as a net exporter of talent capable of leading transformational initiatives across the organization. + Sets standards, patterns and best practices for scalable adoption. + Acts as a thought leader playing a critical role to enable the overall continuous evolution journey for the organization as appropriate. + Establishes trusted working relationship with business unit leaders to understand business objectives and create improvement plans to address their gaps and drive material impact, leveraging intelligent automation where appropriate. + Manages risk through effective change management practices and policy design. **Qualifications You’ll Need** **The Basics** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration and Management, Finance, Continuous Improvement, or related + 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, or product management **In Lieu of Education** + 15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, or product management **Physical and Cognitive Requirements** The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
