Job DescriptionThe Clearing and Settlement Test Engineering Director will lead the team responsible for application testing, test automation, and the planning and management of testing resources for the Clearing and Settlement Systems (CAS) team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of software development and testing processes, as well as expertise in test automation and performance tools across various technology stacks. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and effective leader, an excellent communicator, and have proven skills in test engineering and software development. The candidate will oversee and manage the technical staff, work collaboratively with peers in the development and test engineering teams within Payment Processing Development, and engage with senior management and other groups across the organization.
Essential Functions:
Help build a talented organization by motivating, mentoring, and hiring critical talent
Provide guidance to engineers on their daily tasks including hands-on coding/testing when required.
Ensure adherence to coding standards including code reviews, use of Git for code repository and leveraging Artifactory for application builds.
Work with manager and peers to execute test automation strategy for Clearing Systems
Collaborate with development teams to improve development and test processes.
Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/demos, retrospectives, and other scrum ceremonies
Coach team members to understand and adopt Scrum and the Agile Principles
Ensure adherence to test processes including test documentation, peer reviews and stakeholder signoffs.
Provide estimates and resource plans for Clearing Systems projects.
Work with internal and external clients to support project testing requirements.
Contribute to code and load quality initiatives.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Minimum of 3 years in leadership and resource management capacity
• Hands-on engineering experience in building test automation and performance testing enterprise level applications
• Proven experience in managing a large team of software and test engineers operating within diverse technology stacks.
• Experience running agile projects to deliver software products which are highly scalable and highly available complex systems, preferably in payments or financial services industry.
• Experience in Agile and Waterfall software development methodology
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of CI/CD is a plus
• Familiarity with MVS (Mainframe) systems is a plus
• Passion for high quality software engineering
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and inter-personal skills
