Job Description
The U.S. healthcare system is complex and evolving. For AbbVie to lead the industry in this environment, it is vital that our US Market Access (USMAx) Strategy and Pipeline Team thoroughly comprehend the current and future state of the evolving U.S. healthcare space and market access channels.
The Director, USMAx Pipeline, Oncology will lead U.S. market access strategy development for early oncology pipeline priority assets, focused on Solid Tumor portfolio. The Director USMAx Pipeline Oncology will help integrate the understanding of the complex U.S. health system and the needs and requirements of U.S. payers into early asset development. This role will leverage clinical understanding, expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside US health system knowledge, and competitive insights to shape pivotal clinical development programs for pre-launch compounds, bringing the voice of U.S. payers to our early drug development process.
Specific Responsibilities:
+ Create an overall price, reimbursement and access (PRA) strategy for solid tumor portfolio aligned with the commercial strategy and overall AbbVie Oncology Strategy
+ Lead TouchPoint process for oncology solid tumor assets, working closely with in-line and field teams to ensure clinical programs are designed for success
+ Address reimbursement and pricing potential and inform early price potential across entire solid tumor portfolio
+ Strategically partner with PCS and IMAP to develop Early Integrated Value Proposition (EIVP) for key solid tumor assets. Mobilize the organizations to ensure Global, Area and Affiliate implementation of the AbbVie launch readiness for solid tumor assets
+ Influence clinical development programs to ensure appropriate endpoints are incorporated that will optimize price, reimbursement and ultimately patient access globally and prepare our assets for future policy changes
+ Represent USMAx Early Pipeline at governance as needed (e.g., TASC, START, LMG, REO, etc)
+ Support BD assessments for solid tumors by driving access and price assumptions and coordinating effort with strategic pricing and in-line oncology teams as needed
+ Ensure project resource needs are met; secure and allocate budget across asset assignments to meet critical enterprise goals for Pipeline assets.
+ Co-Lead the Value and Access Teams (VATs) with International Market Access (IMAP) Colleagues and lead creation of US EIVPs (Early Integrated Value Proposition) and Integrated Access Strategies (IAS).
+ Lead the creation of Integrated Asset Strategies, Disease Area Strategies and Early Integrated Value Propositions within the AbbVie Oncology Portfolio and collaborate with Teams across BUs, IMAP, Medical, HEOR, IRA, R&D and others to ensure the value drivers of USMAx Decision Makers are incorporated into Pipeline Commercialization Strategies.
+ Work closely across USMAx Teams to stay close to channel customer dynamics and priorities, partner with IRA and strategy team to ensure optimal asset planning and inform strategic planning and decision making.

Qualifications
+ Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate complex organizational systems required
+ Deep subject matter expertise relevant to commercial and government payers is required
+ US market access experience highly preferred
+ Experience in developing compelling payer value propositions
+ Experience in leading primary and secondary payer research projects to inform payer insights, value drivers and channel strategies
+ Knowledge of government contracting, acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors.
+ Experience in Pipeline development and/or Market Access launches, ideally in the Oncology space
+ Experience with medical benefit products as well as differing acquisition models (e.g., Buy & Bill)
+ Previous oncology experience preferably in Solid Tumors including NSCLC and CRC
+ Strong strategic thinking, communications skills and executive presence required
+ Strong financial acumen and ability to comprehend complex planning scenarios required

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
