What Tax contributes to Cardinal Health
Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.


Tax designs, implements, and defends tax strategies and positions for both Domestic and International locations. This family records and reports tax expense in accordance with US GAAP, Non-GAAP, IFRS and SEC reporting requirements, manages tax due diligence of corporate transactions and prepares tax compliance returns and reports for all jurisdictions in which Cardinal operates. Tax monitors tax legislative, regulatory and judicial activity for all jurisdictions in which Cardinal operates to assure compliance and to identify strategic opportunities and risks. Tax develops tax planning strategies to legally minimize Cardinal’s tax liabilities in the jurisdictions in which the company operates. Tax serves as a subject matter expert on all tax related matters including items such as payroll tax and employee benefits on an as needed basis.

Job Summary


The US Indirect Tax team is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of sales/use, gross receipts, personal and real property taxes as well as certain accounting and forecasting activities. This team partners closely with the sales, finance, IT and accounting teams to ensure the company meets its transaction tax obligations. The Director, US Indirect Tax will lead the Indirect Tax in-house and outsourced team. The position involves working with US taxing jurisdictions, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to comply with transaction tax reporting requirements and accounting functions. Responsibilities


•    Lead transaction tax SOX reporting and maintenance of strong internal controls 
•    Work closely with the sales, finance, IT and accounting teams to continue to enhance processes and governance 
•    Identify and implement process improvements to the current workflows of the team 
•    Maintain relationships with external tax advisors and authorities, representing the company in audits and disputes
•    Effectively lead and collaborate with internal and external tax resources to successfully complete assigned projects


Qualifications


•    12+ years experience in public accounting or a highly complex multistate environment preferred
•    Strong tax technical skills in US taxation, tax compliance, tax research, sales/use tax, property tax, negotiated and statutory tax incentives and unclaimed property 
•    Robust communication skills and an ability to effectively collaborate with key business stakeholders, Corporate Tax colleagues, external advisors and governmental agency representatives
•    Prior management and leadership experience
•    Experience with indirect tax technology and ERP systems is a plus
•    CPA strongly preferred

Anticipated salary range: $164,300-$252,700
