Purpose:

Reporting to the VP Valuation, this position is responsible for performing and guiding actuarial modeling and analysis with respect to financial reporting.

Accountabilities:

Lead the quarterly US GAAP financial close for business reported out of BermudaLead analysis and explanation of resultsDevelop a framework to assess international business across multiple currenciesBuild, maintain, and document detailed actuarial modelsDevelop, document, execute, and review modeling and process controlsInterface with other Actuarial functions and provide new business support as requiredMaintain and document actuarial assumptions and standardsAnalyze and critique client company assumptions and methodologiesInterface with internal and external auditors to answer inquiries and facilitate the audit processModernize and improve the financial reporting process to maximize accuracy and efficiencyValidate and test new reporting models and resultsLead team of Actuarial Students providing guidance, coaching, and performance management


Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or any quantitative fieldAssociate of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent organization) required; Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred7+ years’ technical experience with 5+ years’ experience working in the life insurance industry, preferably in annuities within a U.S. GAAP frameworkProficiency in MS Office suite and any programming languageStrong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several projectsDemonstrated desire to take initiative and run with projectsComfortable working in a flat structured organization and interacting with senior managementAbility to view “big picture”, understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectivesExcellent oral and written English language skills
