Cardinal Health’s Medical Segment business is currently looking for a Director of Operations to lead and support the day-to-day operations for our Northern California Distribution Center located in Dixon, CA. Dixon is located in between Sacramento and the Bay Area. This leader will have financial and operational responsibility for two distribution centers totaling 405,000 square feet with sales volume more than $680 million annually. This metro distribution center; 3rd largest in the Medical Segment network, services hospitals and surgery centers in Northern California and Northern Nevada. The secondary annex location runs a single 3PL operations, supporting the Vantive Home Patient business. The successful candidate will have direct/indirect responsibility for over 300 employees.
Responsibilities:
Provides strategic guidance and leadership at two facilities and ensures execution on organizational financial and production related objectives and goals. Implements and administers all policies and procedures.Responsible for total pipeline logistics, planning, employee engagement, and development to include management of Inbound, Outbound, Quality Inventory Control, EHS, QRA, Sox Compliance, transportation, and maintenance of facility and grounds.Acts as a strategic partner for sales & customers to understand customer needs, issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.Provides support and input to Senior Leadership in the establishment of performance objectives and strategies to ensure the achievement of company forecasts while maintaining a high-level efficiency, safety and quality in sites.Develops and implements site specific procedures to optimize resources and achieve volume, timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.Leads site managers to coordinate capacity and team member schedules with their current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.P&L ownership. Drive fiscal responsibility within the site.Serve as project leader for building implementations, enhancements and growth. Prepares and submits daily and weekly production reports.Responsible for employee development, which includes, but is not limited to training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals.Monitors warehouse productivity, adheres to budget requirements, and works towards obtaining Distribution Center objectives and operations goals.Coordinates the maintenance of warehouse equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance programs and coordinating all necessary repairs.Ensures that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions. Recommends and implements programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization within the facility.Ensures quality service is provided to the customers, and ensures prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to the shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand.Handles general employee inquiries and resolves concerns in a timely fashion. Ensures that the corporation’s Core Values are consistently promoted and practiced.Attends customer business reviews to present operations status. Participates in customer initiatives and provides operations input. Host various teams at the facility, both internal and external, and provide facility support as needed.Continue to look for creative ways to improve the facility and operations through established standards and new ideas.Helps build up VOE Scores by promoting employee engagement in solutions and improvements.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.Previous leadership experience at Director or Site Operations Manager level.Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers and employees.Experience with automation, robotics and technology.Highly communicative, highly accountable, with the propensity and ownership mentality to drive favorable outcomes and continuous improvement.Strong desire to development, coach and insure an approachable, positive culture.Experience in medical distribution or other FDA regulated industry preferred.Experience with process improvement, Lean Six Sigma a plus.Working knowledge of Warehouse Management SystemsStrong financial acumen with experience managing a P&L.Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced, and sometimes challenging environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience and influence outcomes. Can present information in a clear and concise manner.Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities.Prior program/project management experience with multi workstreams, cross functionally dependentStrong leadership skills with ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial and strategic impact.Ability to be imaginative to improve processes and drive efficiency within the sourcing organization.Ability to travel between two sites.Anticipated salary range: $134,000 - $210,000
