The IT Director, Digital Workplace Services is a strategic role who will be accountable for UL Solutions’ workplace services, overseeing the strategy, implementation, and support of end-user technology solutions including colleague productivity solutions, personal computing, mobility, office technology (video conferencing, smart boards), deskside support, and help desk. This role is senior position, as part of the IT Extended Leadership team, to oversee and enable the future state strategy for the respective workplace services to meet business demand, solve problems and ensure a smooth employee experience. This position ensures that the workplace services strategy aligns with the organization’s goals and ensures the talent, process and solutions support these goals. Focused on leading and continuously improving the UL Solutions colleague experience with technology, the leader will also define the strategy, service offerings, and workforce to achieve organization objectives. The leader will collaborate with other IT leaders, across the Transformation & Innovation organization (Enterprise PMO and Cybersecurity) to deliver projects
+ Partner with the IT leaders to support the organization’s objectives from end user computing, workplace (office) solutions, and messaging and collaboration technologies.
+ Develop an overall roadmap and strategy for Workplace Services, along with a plan and approach to continuously improve the employee experience and user support area, focusing on exceptional employee experience in all interactions with IT.
+ Collaborate with other IT leaders to fulfill the IT vision of delivering a world-class integrated information and technology ecosystem for growth to enable UL Solution's mission.
+ Lead, mentor, and manage a global team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, automation and continuous improvement.
+ Collaborate with senior management to identify and prioritize end-user computing needs.
+ Lead and/or participate in high impact transformation projects.
+ Responsible for lowering the overall cost to deliver workplace services.
+ Manages licenses across the organization to provide greater transparency, drive reuse/ redeployment and lower overall license costs.
+ Manages and optimizes equipment refresh activities.
+ Develops and reviews capital and expense budgets for assigned operations.
+ Manages a framework across the supplier network to ensure UL Solutions receives value, obligations are met and provides regular feedback on supplier performance.
+ Partners with Sourcing to negotiate supplier agreements.
+ Implements avenues for gaining employee feedback on their IT experience and develop action plans based on this feedback.
+ Implements tools and processes for measuring and improving the employee experience.
+ Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for end-user and office support.
+ Ensure timely and effective resolution of end-user and office issues and requests.
+ Implement best practices for IT service management, including ITIL frameworks.
+ Creates and publishes IT metrics to ensure quality, timely and consistent delivery and progress against strategy.
+ Leads the teams who analyze incident management trends, conduct root cause analysis and resolution plans.
+ Ensures key business stakeholders and IT leaders are informed of high priority incidents and resolutions promptly.
+ Oversee the deployment, management, and support of end-user devices (e.g. PCs, mobile devices) as well as office technology (e.g. smart boards, video devices) as well as messaging and collaboration technologies.
+ Ensure the availability and performance of end-user and office applications and services.
+ Implement and manage endpoint security measures to protect company data.
+ Ensures UL Solutions IT follows all policies, procedures, security, and legal requirements related to production environments.
+ Provides regular updates to IT leadership providing awareness of key employee issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.
+ Provides direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into products and services to successfully deliver overall IT strategy.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
+ At least 10 years of experience in the IT field
+ Experience leading and managing large, global IT teams, including outsourced vendor resources
+ Proven experience in managing end-user computing / workplace solutions and environments.
+ Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments required.
+ Broad experience in a wide variety of sub-functions within IT.
+ Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills.
+ Experience as a global leader with the ability to communicate/influence culturally diverse people.
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $145,000 to $193,000 and is based on multiple factors,including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 30% and a long term incentive plan of 30% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (20 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
